We kind of had another rough day yesterday. I don't want to turn this thing into a depressing thread but if I don't write it some where it will stay in my head and keep keeping me awake all night!
So I don't know how much news you guys get about the victims out of state. I know here, it's impossible to avoid the news. One of the victims that really stood out to me was Alex Sullivan. It was his birthday and he tweeted how excited he was and how it was going to be the "best birthday ever". Well, yesterday was his one year wedding anniversary and with my first anniversary coming up in two weeks I just couldn't help thinking about how I'd feel if Casey died two days before it.
Yesterday we found out that this particular victim was the Red Robin employee we found out died.
Casey got the call to go help at the Aurora Red Robin yesterday and it was rough stuff. Waitresses would just randomly start bawling and he had to serve some regulars. One group thought only one girl was shot, not 8 with one dead. With them being confused by all the new people, he had to break the news of the extent of their tragedy.
He got through the day with smiles on and donated all his tips from that shift to a trust for Alex's family. I'm proud of him for that.
Also wanted to give my community props. Denver isn't that big of a city and the metro-area just kind of melts together. After Columbine, all the police units in the area were re-trained to handle these situations. Cops were on the scene in 90 SECONDS! And they also successfully neutralized the ****y-trapped apartment. In Fort Collins, an hour and a half from Aurora, cops lined the streets in 100 degree heat just collecting money for the victims. Atthe time there wasn't a trusted place to donate so they knew only cops would be able to be trusted with the money. You can't give blood until next week because so many people rushed to the blood places, all their appointments filled up.
It really is an excellent place to live despite three shootings in the last 13 years.
Just wanted to get all that off my chest. Thanks for listening guys
Great Day 1 and 2 plans! Haha, so funny that you love mediocre Italian food!

Tony's is so pretty, I wish the food was just a little better!
I can't believe what happened in Colorado, such a horrible, pointless tragedy. Praying for all of the families and victims.

I'm glad you have this Disney trip to look forward to after such a rough summer!
Olive Garden is one of my favorite restaurants

In the dining reviews section, they give the Italian restaurants bad reviews and compare it to Olive Garden. I'm like "PERFECT!" Lol.
SO glad I have Disney. I've been watching a lot of Disney movies to make me happy

And me and my mom have been avoiding the topic of conversation of the shooting by talking about our Disney trip.
Loving your PTR so far! My DBF and I brew beer also! My trip is so far away that I'm getting my fix through posts on here =] Looking forward to seeing more of your plans.
Thanks for reading along! I'm a fan of any fan of beer!
