Business's absolutely have the right to discriminate and it happens all the time. If I own a business I can chose to not do business with anyone I please. If I operate private school and you apply for admission, I can chose if I wish to accept you or not. Heck, state universities do it all the time, two applicants, same SAT, same GPA, one gets in, one doesn't. If I understand your position, both should be admitted. Let's say I own a rental facility that is a great location for large social gatherings and I hold dear a set of core beliefs (call it religion or whatever label you choose) and a group or individual that holds beliefs that are polar opposite to mine wish to rent this facility. I have the right to refuse and that is why this bill is being considered. Yes this is proactive legislation in my state, but it was proposed because of the law suits that have played out in other states across the country. If Disney wants to make this an issue and leave, so be it. If the Super Bowl chooses not to come to Atlanta, big deal, most citizens of this state wil never come close to seeing a ticket to the game anyway. All of this activism over every single issue has become exhausting! There can be no legislation that allows a business to discriminate. That's where I'm sure Disney is drawing the line.
