Disney is seriously letting me down...Planes?

looks really cool...

But i must say, im a HUGE planes guy. I can sit at the airport all day watching planes take off. :P

BTW, Cars, even though lots of people thing the 2nd movie sucks is currently the top gross product selling franchise pixar has... hence the reason cars land is being built. and hence Planes is born, lol.

I thought it was a straight to DVD movie. It looks like a good movie for the Disney channel.

This is correct, it is a Disney Animations film, same as the Tinkerbell movies, not Pixar, straight to DVD. I was on a cruise this past Oct when the VP of Disney Animation Studios gave a couple presentions and Planes was one of the movies he was talking, and excited, about.

I saw the ad on TV. My first thought was the movie "Planes, Trains & Automobiles".

So they have Cars, Planes and I wondered should we be expecting Trains in a few years?

It isn't so much the fact that it is a part of a series now... but the fact that a lifeless, practical object is given life in general. How do they reproduce? and where do cars or planes go when they die? do they die? and do their parts then get reused for "new born" cars ? it is a scarey morbid thought for he most part for me. o.o

Welcome! :)

As we saw in Cars 2, cars can die. No mention about their parts though. I assume they are "born" in factories.

Planes could be good. I'll see it when it comes out unless I hear it has horrible reviews.

As a member of the US Air Force, I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. My kids (all military brats :)) are also looking forward to it.

Given that at a large air show the attendance is close to 100,000+/day, I'd say they picked a good theme for a movie.

Even though Pixar is Disney the next film "Brave" is from Pixar. That "Planes" movie is all Disney. I would rather see another Bolt.

Makes me sad because Princess and the Frog and Tangled were both good movies.

Don't let this bother you too much. Planes isn't intended to be a movie of the caliber of those you listed above. It's supposed to be distributed on DVD from home entertainment, not on the big screen.

IIRC the next standard animation film to come from studio will be Wreck it Ralph. It was announced at D23.

I was hoping for another princess film soon as well (and was disappointed by the Tinkerbell movie supposed to be released straight to DVD not appearing this fall as promised - this is the first year in the past 4 years that DD didn't receive a Tinkerbell movie for her birthday). My girls are huge fairy and princess fans. :lovestruc

There is a new Tink movie premiering on the Disney Channel on the 19th.

Which did you all prefer Princess and the Frog or Tangled?
For me it was Princess and the Frog. I know I will be in the minority but I love the look of it. I like the older style of drawing and not the computer stuff.

Disney provided the answer many years ago already.

I liked P&F better than Tangled only because it was a skewed story and it was all cartoon, not the computer generated stuff from Tangled. I did love Tangled tho. :)

I think Planes looks cute, we will see it.
