Not to worry. If the line and tech problems continue, Disney will have even more of those optimal low-crowd days.![]()

You left part of your "thought process" out (the part we all observed). So I added it for you.

I actually take quite a few things people write on these boards with a grain of salt. Just like you said you have been on here since 1999, and your information states that you joined in April of 2007. Some posters just like to embellish things, but I am sure you will come up with some sort of an excuse for the discrepancy.

Ok.....uhhhh........ not that it really matters....well, I guess it does to some..but I had a looooong user name in 1999 when I joined and after some years I got tired of it so changed it. That's why under my name that it says member since 1999? okie dokie? But you're right. I'm probably making that up. Stink! I should have used the year the disboards came online so I would impress people even more! Dang!I think you will be proven wrong about the date discrepancy. Just sayin'.
like I said in another thread, this board cracks me up sometimes.

People are also reporting the parks are dirty. This, too, wasn't my experience. Are my standards different? Am I just lucky? I don't know.Guess this makes our 2015 decision between east coast and west coast that much easier. I wonder if DLR will be seeing an increase in guests due to the poor reviews coming from WDW? Gotta be the case, I'd think.
I suppose in a few years it'll all settle itself out, but now may just not be the best time for WDW.
Oh, I see the issue. The problem is I admit that I don't take everything someones says at face value and use information to draw my own conclusions. Yes, I see how that could bother some people. Yes, it's true. Regarding reading reviews, I do view them all with a bit of skepticism. I'm okay with that and I'm okay with admitting that. The point of this thread, again, is that "Disney is different". Supporting evidence was CMs aren't as friendly/pleasant, room was dirty, etc. It's all there in the OP. I only addressed the room cleanliness issue when another poster asked why no one had addressed that. Again, I'm sorry that the OP had such an unpleasant time, but I don't think that's evidence that Disney service is slipping. This is, of course, based on my ideas about mathematical averages and my own personal experience. We're just back and didn't experience any of the issues that the OP had. I don't know if we were particularly lucky or if she was particularly unlucky. I don't have enough data.People are also reporting the parks are dirty. This, too, wasn't my experience. Nasty. Hair and dust is one thing...bodily fluids is on a whole other level. What in the world happened in that room?!?!?
Glad to see that Disney made good on it though.
People keep commenting on what you said not because they think it should be hard evidence Disney is slipping, but that you basically accused the poster of lying and creating the mess themselves.
Let me be clear, then. I'm NOT calling the OP a liar. I'm saying, I didn't witness this situation, it wasn't my experience and while I'm sorry her trip doesn't go as planned I do not see it as evidence of a huge problem with the Disney resort system. In addition, while I'd be upset to come into a messy room on check in, I think this happens industry wide and is to be expected from time to time. It's not that I think the OP is lying, is that's I don't know her, I don't know the situation and I don't feel like i have enough information to pass judgement on anything. Do I think she created the mess? I think it's unlikely. Do I think there are people who would create the mess to create drama or get money back/comps? Yes.
I'm sorry, but "maybe you spilled coke on the phone yourself" or however you worded it is pretty accusatory.
I'm not sure on that. For us, it is more than twice the cost to go to CA as it is FL, so DLR is out as an option for us.
Made good on it? They gave them a $75 credit and the couple was forced to pay a higher rate for a deluxe resort room.

We are heading west this summer too. Excited to show the kids DL...it's more $$ for sure but I know we'll love it for all the things that make DLR special while avoiding everything we don't like about the whole fp+ situation. It really does cost more for most to do DLR, especially if you want to stay onsite. (And many of us have loved WDW for that Disney bubble). And you can't buy more than a 5 day ticket without making the jump to an AP. That said though, we were thrilled to head west with excitement over our trip rather than dreading the potential issues that might invade our magic. We enjoyed it so much we're avoiding WDW for at least another year and heading back west again. Anybody considering doing that in the near future needs to be aware though that they are in the "year of the refurb" over there. If a particular ride is important, check the list, and check it often...... because it changes a lot. Doesn't matter for us though. The magic is still intact. And that outweighs the rest for us.
I didn't realize they paid more for the room. I read it as Disney upgrading them for their troubles, as well as giving them a $75 credit. When the reviewer mentioned that the room is worth the "extra cost" I assumed they meant for planning purposes AKL is worth the extra cost vs a mod.
Since this was a copy/paste from a travel site review, guess we can't ask them.![]()
That's what I thought, too.

Doubtful, the said it was an extra cost and then said they only got a $75 credit on a $5000 vacation.
