A few years back we went to Disney the first 2 weeks in October. I HATED IT. It was 80-90 degrees, super humid and rained EVERYDAY, usually more than once. Our normal time to go is May. I am reconsidering the fall...maybe the weather was a freak thing and it's not like that all the time. Should I look into pushing the trip up to November to get better weather?? Should I try the fall again or stick with our usual first 2 weeks in May?? What has been your experience with the weather during this time?

Hi Neighbor. We went in October this year and it was super hot (over 90 everyday). I think your trip was not a fluke. We didn't get any rain but October is still hurricane season so the chance of lots of rain is very high. November is somewhat cooler and less of a chance of rain BUT the closer you get to the long weekend and Thanksgiving...the crazier the crowd levels.

We went a couple times in October. Once it was perfect, but once it was misearble. We don't like heat. We have been going for years now in November (Thanksgiving) and the weather is perfect. Warm days and cool nights. Well, that is perfect for us. We do need a sweatshirt and sometimes leggings for the kids in the evenings when we stay out really late (we are always there for PMEMH.) We think the weather is perfect then.

You CAN have temps 80-90 in late Sept-Oct..Nov starts to cool off but hot days can still happen. This past December we had a few days of upper 80's which is not the usual but again can happen

I have been wondering about the weather the week before Halloween that we will be there. I see the average is in the low 80's. Just trying to plan now for things but I guess anything can happen.

We went last year from October 23rd to November 3rd and we hit a major heat wave. To be fair I think the heat broke records 3 of the days we were there, but I was hoping for a nice vacation in the low to mid 80s, I got an extremely hot vacation in the low to mid 90s.

I do think our experience was a bit of an abnormality, but be prepared it can be very hot at the end of October still. That being said we do plan to try again right around then in 2011.

Back in 2004 we traveled in November and the weather was PERFECT - high 70's to low 80's, no humidity AND it didn't rain the entire week. The crowd levels were also very low. We traveled last May (2-12) and it was HOT. Florida must have been having a heat wave or something because I've heard it is usually pleasant during the first weeks of May. Me personally, I'd try for November. I think you'll really enjoy the weather during this time.

If you are not locked into October or May, consider early December or Early-mid January. Cooler weather/low crowds. Perfect.

Not to get away from the fall, but what is like usually in May? Looking to do a first time visit next year. Weather? Crowd levels? Anything else?

We have been in both May and October. I prefer October :cool1: We had wonderful weather :thumbsup2, no lines  and could come and go as we pleased :woohoo:! May was hot and crowded at the parks and the pools. In October you do have to be aware of the crowds at the food and wine festival at EPCOT. If you hit EPCOT during the week the crowds are smaller. The rest of the parks are pretty clear :yay:

Enjoy planning your trip! :dance3:

We did the 3rd week of October in 2008 and I think it was the most pleasant weather we have EVER had on a Disney vacation. We absolutely fell in love with the Disney in the Fall! :lovestruc

I haven't been in early May - only early June, when we were HOT! Maybe the perspective matters too - if it would have been 90 in October, I would have been miserable, but when it is 90 in August, I'm OK with that. :confused3

Early December is the best time to go for crowds and weather. We have been in September - very hot, October - not bad towards the end but can still get hot, and November. Great weather in November but the crowds can begin getting heavy as you get towards Thanksgiving.

Most likely you can get hot weather whenever you go, except maybe February. Late October isn't bad and the crowds are somewhat managable.

Last year we went at the end of October and had record breaking heat. Two years ago, we went in November and it was humid; but it wasnt uncomfortable and three years ago we went in November and in the mornings on the way to the breakfast and the park, you had to wear a sweatshirt. We usually wore sweatshirt with shorts. A couple hours into the day you could put the sweatshirt away and it was lovely. Seems like a crap shoot anytime with the Florida weather.
