We took our first trip in May (It was HOT) I was wondering about the September weather. I hear it's still humid, is that right?

We will be there from September 20-28!

We'll also being doing Mickey's not so scary Halloween party one night. So wondering if we'd ever need a sweatshirt. I know the party goes til midnight. Does it cool off later in the night?

Also I know the crowds are lower than usual. What is your crowd experience if you've been that last week? Or sometime around then.

THanks a bunch!!!

DH and I just did a Sept 13-19 trip this past year... it was HOT!!! but not Humid. Also at night it was warm enough we could swim in the pools and be comfortable!!! It was only chilly when we got out of the pool at night, but sometimes there are those occasional night that is chilly that you would need a lightweight jacket or sweatshirt. So I would day bring a jacket but keep a eye on the forecast for that night before taking it to the park with you.
A really good example to is our first evening there it poured right before fantasmic and we went to the show soaked and the benches were wet but it had stoped raining we were not chilly until we got into the monorial on the way back... I am a cold natured person and I had on bermuda shorts and a tank top, DH shorts and a tee shirt. Hope this helps.

We were there 9/24-10/2 and it was HOT..90's every day, evenings low of 70's. The crowd levels were pretty low and we did the Halloween party which was great. DD wore a sleeveless princess dress and I had a tee and shorts and we were warm. I didn't even pack a sweatshirt LOL. Typically is is in the mid 80"s for that time of year. We have gone that week for the past 5 years and it has never been cool.

Thanks so much, this does help!! I guess i'll pack a light sweatshirt for each of us just in case! I do now how cold them buses feel sometimes too, so I can imagine if you're wet at night and step into one of those ice cold buses.

I'm very excited for our September trip!!! And the kids are going to LOVE the Halloween Party! They don't know about it yet. It may be a surprise!!!

I seriously doubt that you will need a sweatshirt. I've gone the last two years and never brought any. It is still pretty hot even into the night. Its a great time to visit though.

Definately leave the sweatshirt at home. It is HOT in Sept you are going to be sweating bullets!!!

We have gone the last 4 or 5 Septembers

This past year was so hot, it was in the mid 90's every blessed day!

It never was cool, it was not pleasant at all

We will not be going in Sept again for a LONG time

We used to go 1st week in September and it was always hot. Now, we go in October. We went to MNSSHP last October 20(?) and brought light jackets, but I did not wear mine. I think we put them on children when we left park at midnight.

We were there September 12-19 and then again September 26-October 8. Hot is an understatement. In saying that, we loved the heat. But we did find the restaurants, buses and hotels exceptionally cold. We made good use of our jackets at those times.

We went the last week of Sept our first trip. Never again. It was HOT! The evenings were ok but most of the daylight hours were miserable.

September is usually hotter and more humid than May.

(DH and I grew up in FL)

As far as Disney, the crowds will be much lighter in Sept. We usually go in May, but my parents just went in Sept-- the same week you're going. They said the longest line they saw was 30 mins or so for Soarin-- that was a 2 hr minimum whenever we've been there in May (we go the end of the month the two weeks around Memorial Day). I gave them detailed info about what attractions to hit at rope drop and what FPs to get. That was essential during our May trips, but they had no issues with crowds or lines in Sept.

They did free dining and did say they often waited a while at the restaurants. (They had the deluxe plan so they did 2 TS meals per day.) They also stayed at Pop. The hotel was completely full and they experienced longer waits for the busses than we did during our trips. (I think more people were staying at the values to get the most out of the free dining offer, so the value resorts were crowded even though the parks weren't.)

This is very true it is less crowded. My DH and I did notice that all the value hotels had mega lines for there buses everywhere. My parents are going in Sept this year and we told them to spend the extra to stay at a moderate.

DH and i were there sept. 2008 pretty much the same days you're going (the 20th is his birthday and we were there for that).

we had a GREAT time! the crowds were non-existant. we did MNSSHP and the place was really pretty empty.

it was HOT and humid but definitely not so bad that it ruined our time.

have a wonderful time!

oh, and we had free dining. only the restaurants seemed crowded (but honestly i probably wouldn't have noticed if i hadn't read it on the boards already!)

Wow, thanks so much for all of your responses. We definitely want the heat!!! Not heatstroke heat, but heat!! ;) So, this time sounds perfect.

I didn't think about the busses being crowded. We are debating on hotels right now, knowing this, I will lean more toward CBR now.

I"m also wondering now if we should just stick with the QSDP again rather than having to wait long for all of our TS meals??? Not sure, i'll have to think about that too! Well, I have some time, I want to book in a few weeks, so, I'll get on that!

Well, we visited last Oct. ~ our dates were 10/1-10/10 ~ the weather was miserable - hot and humid, when we go back (hopefully 2011) it will be during winter ~ I'd rather visit Disney when it's cool enough that I want a sweatshirt on!

*Crowds were not a problem at all.

We've been in September twice, and both years it was HOT! Not so bad that you want to swim in one of the ice water troughs around the parks, but definitely hot. The crowds are lower, so you at least don't have to be packed in tight with other hot, sweaty people. Night is nice because it's still warm enough to be comfortable in shorts for the most part and great swimming weather. Have lots of fun!!!

We've gone the end of September twice now and going again this year:cool1:
It's warm, no jacket required, ever.
IMO, forget about spending the money upgrading hotels, rent a car and still save yourself $600.00. No bus lines to wait in and a grocery/water stop along the way.
We drank A LOT of water. I will buy two cases this year.

They will probably offer free dining again for the dates that you are planning to go in about March or April if you are willing to pay rack rate for the rooms. For DH and I again Sept 13-19 and we eat around 5:30-6 (I had like 1 ressie at 7 Trex/ paid out of pocket) and we never waited longer than 20 minutes for a table. We did find tho that the Dining Plan (1 TS/ 1 entree, 1 soft drink, 1 dessert, 1 QS/ 1 entree or combo, 1 drink and 1 dessert and 1 Snack) was a lot to eat. (We do have to try it again tho, bc halfway thru our trip we found out I was prego and that did really affect my eating/ I basically had no appetite. Very Nausea. DH tho did say to him it was a lot of food.) So you might be better off going with the QSDP if you think it will be too much for you as well. Just wanted to give you an idea.

We went in Sept. this past year & plan to go in Sept. this year. It's hot but bearable. My asthma acts up in the humidity but I did ok. Crowds were'nt bad & we could always cool off at one of the water parks or resort pool.
