We just returned from our first trip in Oct. We arrived on the 27th and left on Nov. 4. The weather was nice, 80's during the day and no humidity. However, I would suggest packing capris/pants and a sweater (the mornings and evenings can get cool). The crowds were completely manageable! We waited no more than 10 minutes for a lot of the rides and used fast passes for the more popular rides. The weekends got a little more crowded. We were at MNSSHP on Oct. 30 and didn't find that the crowds were a problem at all!

We just got back last week from our October vacation (10/25-11/1). The weather was still warm (high 70's to low 80's during the day and mid 60's at night). DH was there from 10/21-10/25 for a conference and the temps were in the 90's.

When we were at MK on 10/29 it got cooler at night and I actually had to switch from my shorts into jeans. But other than that, it was fine. We had rain one day (on 10/28) but it was over before we even left for breakfast at around 7, 7:30 am. That was the only morning where the temperature was 58 degrees (but it warmed up during the day and was fine).

We went to MNSSHP on Halloween night around 7:30, 8 pm, and the parade was just about ready to start. A few of the CM's told us to wait until 10:30 as it's not as crowded as the earlier one. We opted to do that and spent about an hour going on some of the rides and hitting the candy stations in tomorrowland before heading over to Toon Town. The major rides are open during MNSSHP and we didn't wait too long on the rides that we did do. Those that are closed are used as candy stations.

Our DS4 got his face painted like Goofy in Toon Town, but within 5 to 10 minutes, he was out like a light! We couldn't even wake him up for the parade! Daddy wound up going ahead and Trick-or-Treating for our DS :rotfl:

Overall, you should be fine. Just make sure to bring a sweatshirt or a light jacket with you to the parks for the evening/night.

We just got back as well and the weather was pretty good while we were there. A little chilly one at one point (wore a sweatshirt) but otherwise not too bad. The crowds were fairly light during the week, not so much on the weekends.

We did do MNSSHP, but I admit to being a bit disappointed by it. Just wasn't much for the amount of money we paid. Worth trying it once though, IMO.

1) Weather? HOT/Cold??? shorts/long pants??? rain??
We have done WDW 2x in October and both times weather was beautiful. Warm & Sunny 80's and wore shorts the whole time. I would definitely pack a pair or 2 of pants/capris just in case as it is hurricane season and when it rains it can get chilly. If you don't pack a sweatshirt now you have an excuse to buy one there :teeth: It only rained 1 day on 1st trip and that was a misty like rain - we went to the water park that day so who cared, and 1 day for about 1 hour (poured) on our last trip so not really rainy unless like I said you hit a hurricane. Stop at your local dollar store and pick up a couple ponchos to have just in case - I got 2 per person and we just threw them away after we used it instead of trying to refold & put away a wet plastic poncho.

2) Crowds????
1st time they were nonexistent and we walked on all but 2 rides test track, and winnie the pooh (technical difficulties on both of them). 2nd time we went crowds were larger because Food & Wine festival is in the beginning of October and they were also offering a free dining promo when we went.

3) other other events on in october???
Other than Mickeys not so scary halloween parties and Food & Wine Festival in Epcot I'm not too sure if anything else is going on in October.

Have FUN!!! We won't be going back till October 09 :guilty:

we stayed 10/9-10/13/06. The mournings and evenings were cool. wife wore a light jacket. shorts and shirt were the norm. I think we caught a good week, the high never passed the 84 mark.

almost forgtot..............The crowds were below average. Our longest wait was less then 15 minutes. We used fast passes the first time around the ride and did not the second. There was a minimal difference. The only ride we chose not to go on was the astro orbitor. Wife doesn't like heights.

The first week may be busy. We were there the 12-17 and it was kinda busy due to many local schools having off for teacher planning those days.

The second week should be fantastic! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
