Disney in Myrtle Beach

I honeymooned in Myrtle Beach in May 2004 and when we were there we toured a starwood time share and the guide there told us that there was a development in the works for the area that involved Disney. I know that it was most likely just a rumor, expessially since I haven't heard anymore of it. I just wondered if anyone else has ever heard anything to this effect.

I live in Myrtle Beach, and that rumor has been going around now for DECADES!!!!! But nothing has ever come of it.

There are plans now for a new themepark with ties to Hardrock Cafe. That has been in the works for quite a while now. That's probably what the timeshare people were referring to. For a while right after the announcement was made that there would be a theme park, there was speculation that Disney was involved. Turned out to be false.

The new hardrock park is slated to open in the summer of 2008.

I remember Myrtle Beach being discussed as a future DVC site, but that seems very unlikely at this point

Completely off the subject, but.....any new places to eat at Myrtle. We have vacationed at Land's End for the last 15 years and are always looking for new eating places!!!!
