Disney in Middle of Universal week or add on at end?

What do you all think would be best? Since we now have the free 1 day park hopper passes for WDW, we are planning to use them when we go down to Universal 12/27 to 1/1. We are staying at PBH Club Level and will probably drive down unless we find an extremely great rate so we could potentially stay an extra day. (Right now I am thinking $2000 to 3000 is ridiculous for air fare)

Do you think we should go later in the week during our Universal stay or add on an extra day and stay at a WDW hotel and go at end of week 1/2?

Keep in mind that our drive home is 15 HOURS.

I think you should go to Universal later in the week...after Disney. The crowds will still be pretty heavy until 1/2 or 1/3 so staying onsite will help you greatly with the unlimited Express pass access.
