Disney in May

I am trying to figure out the best time to go to Disney for me and my kids and my friend and hers. I would like to go this October but she feels that she needs to wait until she receives her tax return from April 2011 in order to go.

This then puts us to October of 2011 which is 20 months away and seems so long.It also puts my son at the age of 10 which causes prices to be higher I understand.

So now I am looking at may of 2009 but I have not talked to many people that have gone then. I am looking for any and all info regarding this month. Weather, crowds, pros and cons etc...

Also do they ever run any specials in May?

Last year we got the buy 4 get 3 in July and I know Septemebr starts free dining. Is May considered a peak time to go?

I've been in May a couple of times and really liked it. The beginning of May is better than later May because schools start getting out by then. The first time I went was the first week of May and I was 5 months pregnant. The weather wasn't too hot yet and the crowds were super low. There are specials going on right now for this May. There is a gift card promo and a discount code promo. Were you talking about this May or next? Promos don't usually come out until a few months before so there's no way to know what will be happening next May but I'm sure there will be some kind of discounts going on! I think May is a great time....low crowds, still swimming weather and not hurricane season! I believe there are some discounts on the WDW website for different resort levels...also check out Mousesavers.com for discounts/codes.

Definately important to squeeze in a trip before the 10th birthday!! Happy planning!

We went last May and again going this May. Works out great for us with the kids and the crowds are not bad at all since most schools do not let out until begining of June.

We are booked to go this May. We are going at the end because my kids will be out of school by then. We took advantage of the 5 night 6 day special where you get the gift card. I think it is good on arrivals up to June 3. We wanted to go in May before it got super hot because we have normally been in July!

May has gotten busier overthe years but nothing like the summer. The weather is usually mid 80's so you can swim and play with out all the layers. There are very good deals on room only through this May. I booked Mem. day weekend earlier this week at Pop for about90 a night for a preferred room.(Iam a Fl res). I was surprise they were avail and at the price. I go every Mem Day weekend for a homeschool conv. and I usally book earlier and pay more.

Hmmm I assume you are talking about May 2010? If so - yes right now there are two specials - the Gift card and a discount off of the room (40% off deluxes - less for lower categories).

We are going mid may - we got the 40% off - but I also after I booked the 40% off code got an email for 40% off a deluxe for the same time period. There are some specials out there if you look.

From what we were told it is hot, can rain a bit, but is less crowded than June.

We went in May of last year and it was WONDERFUL!!! Although it was warm, I had rather have it warm than to have to wear layers. Also the flower and garden festival was beautiful!!! We went the week of mother's day and crowds were less then they were when we went in March of 2007.

We went during mid-May last year and had a great trip! We had a buy 4 get 3 deal. The only negative was the weather - 95+ degrees. My 71 year old mother had a rough time with the heat and humidity, until I convinced her to get an ECV! The rest of us were fine with the heat and had a blast!
