Was wondering if anyone had an idea of how the crowds are in May. We are doing a Grand Gathering with 24 people May 17-24 and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for restaurants we should definitely try.

We were in WDW the first week of May in 2007. Crowds were light.

We were there the last week of May a few years ago and it wasn't crowded at all. :)

Crowd are light to moderate. Wait times for most attractions are 10-20 min. The Dumbo ride wait times are still really long 30 min or more from the late morning and on.
We are also going back in May. May 9- May 26 so we'll see ya down there.

I had heard that crowds were moderately light during May but when we went I thought the crowds were moderately heavy. Lighter crowds than when we've been in July (our normal travel time) but heavier than what we had anticipated. We had hoped that attraction stand-by times would be under 30min but most were at least that or longer.

I have been twice in May. 1st year May 17-28, second year May 1-10. I thought the crowds were relatively light.

Thanks for the info. It has been so long since I have been down there in May and could not remember what the crowds were like at that time.

I LOVE MAY!!! It is so nice and light:cool1: . Very comfortable in parks. You'll love it!:cool2:

We went the first week of May in 2007 and we loved how light the crowds were. We were used to the high crowds in mid June and from now on we are gonna try to keep going in May!

We loved May, went in 2004 and 2006 the crowds were light but enough to feel festive, weather was beautiful. We went last year for free dining in Sept. and decided that May is our absolute favorite. The free food was nice but, over all May gets our votes.

Have fun.

We were there that exact time last year. In fact our last few trips have been during this time period. As it goes into Memorial Day weekend. My son has the Friday before Memorial Day off. We take that week because he is in high school and can't miss more than four days from school without returning with a Dr.'s note.
It is a GREAT time to visit. The weather is beautiful! Hot..without being humid.(We used to go in August..so we KNOW humid!) The crowds are not bad at all. We didn't wait long for anything at all. I would highly recommend that week. As the Memorial Day weekend approaches the resorts do get a bit more crowded, maybe by the Friday. I would suggest that if you make ADR's if you have any place specific in mind that you want to eat for the weekend. We had ADR's for the entire week, and even managed to change one while we were there without any difficulty. Have fun..you're gonna love it!;)

I have no idea how the crowds are but just wanted to say hi since we will be there May 17-24 as well!! :yay:

We went in May back in 2005, we flew in on the 5th the first day of Magical Express, YIKES! Actually the crowds were great, we had hardly any wait time we were there for five days over mothers day weekend...we really enjoyed everything about our May trip, Have Fun!

With a group that large, you should try to make some ressies if you want to have some meals together. We had a group of 19 and couldn't always get the times we wanted and some restaurants will need to split you up.

We love Boma's and Chef Mickey's is fun. They will do a picture of all of you together.

Wow - 24 people? We took 7 during our last trip and that was enough!;)

We went in May 2005 and it was terrific! The weather was beautiful and the crowds were fairly light. We were there on the first day of the Magical Express (nightmare), but the parks were great!
