We have a family trip planned at Madeira Beach for the last week in July. We wanted to try and drive up to Disney for a day trip to MK. I took a look at touring plans and found the least crowded day for that week. We have never been in July, we went last year mid June. Can anyone give me any tips on how the crowd /weather is, and if you've taken a day trip from the beach.
Thanks

The weather will probably be very hot and humid. Temps can get around 95 degrees. I love going in mid july because the holiday crowds have just died down. I will be staying there this summer from the 4th to the 11th. the only thing that people kind of dread are the brazillian tour groups. They may or may not be there during your stay. I guarantee you will see at least one. In terms of going to MK, just make sure you get in there around 8am to maximize your play time.:thumbsup2

Im not quite sure what the deal is for people who are coming from off propertyl, but be there as soon as the park opens anyways.

Thanks, we are rope drop people so we had planned to be there before park opening.

I live about 15 min north east of Maderia Bch. Plan close to a 2 hour drive from Maderia to WDW. It can take almost 30 just to get to the interstate from there and then about an hour and a half to WDW.

July is hot. It is hotter and more humid mid state than on the coast that time of year. I know we typically avoid WDW in July and August because of the heat. Take lots and lots of breaks and drink more than you think you should. Afternoon T-storms are a given. Usually around 4-5pm for about 15-30 min. It helps cool us down but be prepared for them.

Crowds are a little lighter but still full blown so even though the crowd calendar says light, there are still long lines at the usual haunts so expect them. Use fast pass to your advantage.

Coming from the armpit of America (southern Indiana) we find that WDW in July is much more comfortable than our weather at home. our heat index with humidity the temp is 105 on up. Miserable! We went last year in July and the crowds were reasonable and the temperatures were comfortable as well. Plus the rain showers help cool things down.

Don't forget that 95 will feel more like 105 with the humidity. So I would pack a Frogg Togg towel to cool off with.

We did it last year and was surprised what a great trip we had. Frog toggs and mini fans from wal mart that hung around our neck. Rope drop rest in afternoon and late nights.

We're doing June 17th till July 8th universal for the 1st wk then going to SSR from the 24th,

I love disney world but have never chosen to go at this time before, although I'm excited to be able to go water parks and not freeze " even in October i feel too cold for the water parks while my boys and hubby love them!

Coming from the UK I'm worried about how we will struggle with the heat! And I hate crowds :( but dh deployment canceled our trip that was booked for early may! And this was the only other time we could move it to.
So it was love it or lose £4000 on flights!
