We are starting to plan for a trip in July. How busy is DW after the 4th of July? We are looking at going July 10-17th. Would this be a good time or should we try and go earlier?
Thanks,

The first couple of days after the 4th, the parks are virtually quiet. Then, around July 9th, the parks are almost worse than the 4th!

It would be a good time IMHO, but then again I always go in the summer and expect crowds regardless. If your looking for the parks to be empty, i'd pick an earlier time.

We have always gone during the week of the 4th. Last year we went July 1-9. It is definitely busy. We used EMH and got everything done that we wanted to. It is hot and crowded, but we thought it is very doable.

In regards to later July being busier than the week of the 4th....that surprises me. I can't imagine it being busier. But then again, I have never gone the weeks following the 4th.

No matter what you will have a great time as long as you take it slow, use EMH and take some breaks. We sure have an awesome time when we go that time of year!!!

we always travel during the first 3 weeks in july and honestly i have always found that july 5th to be worse then the 4th. there is a reduction of people in the parks after the 5th but not a real significant drop. its the busy season anyway so it will be crowded. as others have said with the EMH and fastpasses you shouldnt have any problems doing whatever you want to do. this july we will be there from the 10-the 21st enjoying ourselves .

We always go in July because that's the only time that works out for everyone in our family. Of course we know that there will be crowds, but we don't let that take the fun out of our trip! We go for 2 weeks so we take things slow and take a swim/nap before our dinner reservations. Also, EMH is our best friend! lol! Plus, July 10th is my birthday, what better way to spend it than going to WDW?!

We went in july last yr for our first ever trip to disney. The longest line was for kali river rapids other lines where at max 20 to 30 mins.Iit was not as hot as we thought it would of been but the rain came and went so be prepared for that. As for going back this summer we will be leaving later in july this time on july 22 . Just plan your days out dont rush and remember what you dont hit during the day go to it during extra magic hrs. We got to ride splash moutain 15 times in a row and my son loved it and it was the last hr of the extra magic hrs it was pure magic and plan to do it again. May you and yours have a great trip

Definitely expect crowds during the summer. That's when we usually go. We always manage to get to everything despite the crowds. And it is hot. Very hot. Just make sure everyone with you drinks lots of liquids!

We went last year july 2- to july 16. We had a blast. Sure it was crowded and hot but we left home telling ourselves we'd ahve fun..and we did. If you leave and be negative about it.. you'll ahve a crappy time.

What we deid is that we went to Downtown Disney on the 4th. But I can't stress how much fun we had even if it was crowded ;)

We are going in July as well, and are just preparing ourselves for crowds so as not to be surprised by it. In a weird way, we are actually looking forward to it as the crowds and heat will force us to take a more relaxed touring style, including breaks and naps at the hotel, instead of the 12 hours of themepark commando-ing we tend to do. Like others have said, just expect the worst of crowds and heat, and be prepared for rain. It looks like you will be there long enough to slow down a little and have time to see everything.

We are going 6/30-7/10. First time in July but since we've been so many times before I'm not too concerned. We will take it easy & focus on doing the things we love and not try to see & do everything.

We were there over 4th of July week and the week after last year. It is hot, it is muggy, it is crowded.... but it's a blast. We didn't have problems getting everything we wanted done, even in MK during the 4th of July. Crowds did die down a bit the week after but not by much. Plan things out, decide which park you want to hit on which day and get a plan for using FP's and you should be fine. Bring a poncho however as you can almost guarantee that you will be hit by one of those infamous 15 minute florida summer storms :thumbsup2
