We are heading to Disney right after New Years and are wondering what the weather is like that time of year in Orlando?

Any tips or advice would be most appreciated!!! :earsboy:

We have been in January, the weather was cool. We wore a pull over or jacket and long pants all days except for one. It wasn't swimming weather but it was still way better weather than January in Michigan!

Did you guys swim? We are deciding if we should stay at the Yacht Club even though it may be to cold to swim. What do you think?

Winters in FL are so unpredicitable. I remember Christmas and New Years in shorts and some years it would get as low as the 20s. But if I had to guess, I'd say cold at night and cool and sunny during the day. Jeans and sweatshirts for the day and winter coat for me at night. But I am freezing with anything under 50 degrees. :earseek:

And don't forget your sunscreen. The sun can still be very bright in the winter, especially if there are no clouds.

January is my favorite time of year to go!

The weather is very unprecitable, but only on one trip did it get really cold!

Bring your bathing suits, the pools are nicely heated. My kids are like polar bears, they'll swim any time of year!

We'll be packing our bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, jeans & sweatshirts for our upcoming Jan trip! :)

We've been in Jan & Dec before & had all kinds of different weather. Both trips had several days that we were very comfortable during the day in shorts & t's. It was 80 degrees a few days in January. We also saw it get into the 30's in December - but, this was just 2 days after it was 80 degrees. You should be able to swim at least some of the days you're there. I'd pack everything to be prepared. HTH! :)

We have been several times in January and will be going again in Jan 2005. We have had weather ranging from the 40's at night and high 50's and 60's in the day 60's at night with high 70's during the day. While warmer is always better, WDW is great no matter what the weather!

The Avg. high in Orlando in Jan is 72 and the avg. low is 50. We went the first week in Feb last year and are doing the same this year. I noticed that it was like mid spring weather here in New England. Brisk in the morning and in the afternoon there was areal hot sun even though it was only in the mid 60's. The weather is perfect for us. Lots of layers. I must say that we never were out after 8:30 so I never felt it get really cold.
Good Luck
Tara

We were there last January towards the end of the month and it was cool to cold most days.
