My family and I did a land/sea package (with extra nights added onto the land portion that was before the cruise) over Christmas 2000.
One hint: bring a sweatshirt and a pair of light gloves.
It might be our bad luck, I don't know, but it actually snowed in florida when we were there. And here was me with one pair of jeans and everything else was t-shirts and shorts. "BUt you're Canadian, you should be used to the cold"... sure, when I have clothes for cold weather!!!
Another hint, avoid using the word tuque in WDW. I told a castmember that I liked his tuque, and spent the next ten minutes repeating the word for him and some other castmembers (now that brother bear is out, I can say, it sounds like the moose's name, just spelt differently).
We had a wonderful time over christmas (despite the chilliness) with the wonderful decorations. We didn't end up visiting many of the special events they had on, but just seeing the lights and the tress and the singing archways was absolutely amazing.
Hope this helps
