Hi Everyone,
I'm another newbie to the boards but not to Disney. I first experienced Disney at 10 yrs, then again at 14. In college I had the amazing opportunity to be part of the Disney College Program for 6 months. I worked transportation in Epcot. Meaning I drove the parking trams and told people where to park. It was some of the best 6 months of my life. Fast forward 10 years. I have 2 daughters, who at the time are 14 months and almost 3. I tell my husband its time to go to Disney World. He and the rest of my family think I'm crazy, saying your girls will never remember. !!!! Yes but I will, I tell them. So last year in March of 2006 we took our first family Disney trip and so much fun! I've convinced my husband its time to go again. The girls will be 4.5 and 2 weeks shy of 3 (still free). We are actually going to be there from Dec. 5-10. Hopefully it won't be too crowded.

We took our two year old in March and so many people made comments like that too. But first off who cares if they don't remember, but they will enjoy the moment of it. Heck I can't remember all of yesterday! LOL :rotfl2: But our 2YO is still talkingabout it daily and keeps saying "we're going to Disney?" and I say not today, and she says "pretty soon!" So she remembers alot about it. I am trying to convince DH to go for her third b-day in Dec. I think it would be the ultimate for her. And she is big on x`mas decorations too, so with that added she will just love it.
I think what will hold my DH back is family making comments about going twice in one years time. But who cares. If that is what his little girl wants the nso be it! ;)
I took my older two a couple of times when they were young ( I was a single mom with them) and those were the best vacations we had. They still talk about funny things that happened and it was 10 and 8 years since our trips.

I want to go around Dec 7~12 and stay at AS Movies or POP. We stayed at Pop in March and loved it, but thought of maybe doing something different thsi time too.

DH and I are taking our DD who will be 3 well 3.5 in Dec it will be her first trip. will she remember it? Who cares !! I will, and we are having so much fun planning it and she is so eagerly anticipating it ( she even contributes to our "Disney Jar"), and anyway that's what pictures/video is for. Ican't wait to see it thru her eyes!

Pop Warner and the Cheer and Dance Competitions will be from Dec 1st to the 8th.

Can get a little crowded. Not too bad.

DH and I have been there 3 times at that time. And last Nov and this November we are going the day after Thanksgiving and getting out of Dodge the DAY the kiddies roll in!

Just thought I would share.......This is a repost of my response to someone who said "some" of their family members told them the kids are too young for Disney....Mind you, I have no kids......

When DH and I first took my niece (she was 4- 2005) I had a few people say- you should wait until she is a bit older and she will remember it, understand it, blah blah- Mind your own business! I KNEW she was obsessed with the princesses and just to see them in their "element" would have been FANTASTIC fun for her- and it was!!!!

She was 4 and she had a blast- by day 2-we even got her to start hugging all of the characters (she was scared in the beginning) and running to get in line to see them- and the princesses OMG! She was "star struck" She would KNOW to get her autograph book all ready for them! She even enjoyed EPCOT- we took her to all of the countries to get her stamp and color her masks- she would sit there forever at the tables and just color away! She couldn't wait to get to the next country! and there are tons of other "projects" for the kids to do in EPCOT.

When we got home, all she talked about was Disney- That is why DH and I went with her and her family last year (2006) b/c her mommy called me and said we have GOT to get this kid back to Disney- she is driving me CRAZY!!! We booked the trip and 2 months after that call, we were back in Disney! This time we had another little one who was 2 and he LOVED it!

I now have another trip planned for them in Nov, b/c my niece is addicted. (thanks to aunt "Madd")

Funny- my SIL was telling me a story about how my niece kept saying she wanted to go on a boat- well, BIL HAS a boat and she thought- wow this is great she is really into her daddy's boat! Come to find out....the BOAT she was talking about was a DISNEY CRUISE!!!!

The good thing about Disney is, it is for ALL ages- from preschool to adults- there is always something for each age to do, b/c the kids change every year- my niece still likes the princesses, however, she is now a bit older and she can get into more that Disney has to offer- like Pirates!- her little brother also likes pirates now, so they now have something new to look forward to......Their interests change all the time.

Man- people who are Disney dummies- don't have a darn clue what is there waiting for them! They P me off!

madd, I love your story. like said I can't wait to see it thru her eyes!!
hope ya'll have a great time on the upcoming trip! have a safe `trip

Does anyone know what the typical weather is for December? Can you wear shorts on average? or jeans. I don't care either way, but just curious.

we were there for our Disneymoon Dec. 2000 weather was GREAT!
don't remember exact temps, but mild during the day (shorts, T-shirts)
cooler at night (jeans , short sleeves with light jacket or sweater/sweatshirt)

We took about 6 December trips.

2x it was fa-reezing! We were there from christmas through New Years and it actually SNOWED!- That was 89/90

and then just a few years ago, a few nights- I had on my winter jacket, gloves, scarf-- and I had to purchase a hat!:scared1:

Just keep keep checking the weather before you go- Just log onto some of Orlando's news station's websites.

I also like this site- b/c you can check up to 15 days- even though you know the weather will change as it gets closer but it is good to keep your eye out.

Thanks...there is a site that will show you average temps for any motnh, but I can't remember where to find it. I think it's on weather.com, but I couldn't find it earlier. I'll have to take some time and look.
