Hello- Just bought tickets for MVMCP for Fri the 1st of Dec. Any advice for our 1st party would be great. Just looking online and tring to plan our long weekend to try to take in all the xmas activites at the World. We have 2 day ph tickets left over from our Oct trip. I assume we do not need to use a pass to get into the MK for the party. So that leaves me to think that I should try to go to the CP at Epcot and Osbournes Lights at MGM Sat or Sun nights, does that sound about right???? My wife will be about 24 weeks so we will not need to ride rides but we want to take Xmas in at the world. Any suggestions should we resort hop and see all the resorts decorations????? Thank for your advice..... :surfweb:

A couple of suggestions for MVMCP, get your picture later in the evening - most people get theirs done early so the lines are long at the beginning and nearly non-existent at the end.

Also, see the second parade. During the first parade go on rides (multiple times).

Don't miss the fireworks.

The resorts are beautiful.

The two years we have gone to MVMCP we have never been asked for a regular park ticket just our party tickets. You can enter the park as early as 4pm with these party passes and stay as late as 1am.
>We like to either take the monorail or boats to the Magic Kingdom resorts to check out all their decorations, the monorail will take you to the Poly, Contempt and GF and the boat can take you to wilderness lodge. Perhaps you could do these resorts on Friday before you enter MK for the party. If you don't have seating for dinner yet, you may want to do that asap.

Since you have two days left on your tickets, I would head to MGM to enjoy the lights then fantasia, you could then walk the path or take the ferry back to the boardwalk and checkout the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yaght Club, Swan and Dolphin resorts holiday decorations.

and you'd still have one day left to see all the christmas decorations and holiday lights at EPCOT and hear the CP. We have never done the diner package for this show and have been able to sit in the arena or stand in back of the arena and have been able to enjoy the show.

All the resorts are beautiful at this time of year and well worth checking out.

All oif the resorts will be "done up" for christmas in varying degrees. My personal favs are the wilderness lodge - it just feels like christmas!
Boardwalk - they have a display in the lobby to check out! and Beach club/yacht club have a display in the lobby.

The displays are outta this world! full scale gingerbread house carousel made of chocolate.

Also Downtown will be decorated. Really Disney puts on a SHOW for almost every ocassion, and Christmas is no exception!

As for MVMCP: no you don't need to use your ph's unless you go really early, I believe they start letting people in around 4PM with party tickets.

And lastly, a long weekend isn't enough time to take in all the xmas activities, but is long enough to get a taste and want to come back for more!!

Have a great trip!!!

Catch the late parade, get your bracelet early. Grab a good spot for the parade when you first notice people starting to pack in. Also, it's a shame you're going on a Friday. We did a Monday last year and MK was empty. We got a great seat for the parade, got on all the rides.

The Osbourne light display is worth seeing!

Good suggestions above. I would definitely check out the various special Christmas shows at MK during the MVMCP as well as the complementary hot chocolate and cookies that are served in certain locations in MK that evening.

The GF was beautiful with this huge gingerbread house in the lobby.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks for all the great replies. I guess since my wife is pregant we will do all the parks at night and hit the resorts durning the day. And maybe sneak back to some of the resorts at night to see them lite up. Thank you :thumbsup2

You won't be dissappointed.

Have you thought about where you want to eat? You really should consider making ADR's since it is a popular time. If you are going to visit the resorts there are some wonderful restaurants to check out, Citrico's at the Grand Floridian is great. The Flying Fish on the Boardwalk is wonderful and you could enjoy that after you see all of the decorations at the Boardwalk Inn and the Beach and Yacht Club or even the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, it is just a 5 minute walk out the back entrace of Epcot. Kona Cafe at the Polynesian, or California Grill at the Contemporary. What about eating before the Christmas Party? Many people make an ADR early in the park 5 oclock or so in either Liberty Tree Tavern or the Plaza or Crystal Palace and then they are there and fed to start the party and don't have to "waste" any valuable party time eating. Those ADR's might already be taken, but you could eat early at any of the monorail resorts, Polynesian, Contemporary(walk over also) or at the Wilderness Lodge-Artist Point and then come over to the party. Plus, just seeing the Wilderness lodge is so cool at Christmas and you could take the boat over from MK and back which would be fun. Check out the menus at allearsnet.com and make your decisions. Personally I would decide on what park what day and have some general idea and then make some ADR's. The Brown Derby is also good in MGM, and we love Mama Melroses there also. Have a wonderful trip and CONGRATULATIONS!!! Let me know if you need anything else! Also, many people have booked a package for the CP (dinner and seating) If you are not doing this, and you want to try to sit for the show you will need to get in line early for the rest of the seats that they open up to the folks who haven't booked a package. The search function on theses boards might give you a thread with some more info on how early to get in line. :santa:

We spend a day going from resort to resort enjoying the decorations in mid DEC.
