Day 10, Sunday December 14th
The cast
Me, Erika, 34, Disney obsessed for as long as I can remember
DH, Steve, 36, extremely tolerant of my obsession, loves Disney vacations
DS, Matthew, 10 ½, loves Disney World, tried many new things this trip
DD, Alexa, 7 (almost 8), as Disney crazy as I am
Today started as my last day always does, with me crying in the shower because I dont want to go home. I am such a sap. Nothing exciting today, just packing up and catching a plane. We took a box to the business center to ship home, since we always buy more than will fit in our bags. On the way to the airport we stopped at the Marketplace to buy a couple of last things and get lunch. Did I mention earlier that we left our ponchos at home? Did I mention that it was raining today? Well, it was raining today, make that pouring!!!!!!!! Wow, cats and dogs. That said Id rather have been wet at the parks than going to the airport, I envied all of those people going to the bus stops in their ponchos. Ds had been begging to spend his Disney Dollars on the Contemporary and switch station for his monorail and we finally gave in. We told him he could buy it but it would have to be shipped home (oddly enough it arrived today while I am typing this up). We ate at McDonalds and headed for the airport. Alexa got sick in the car on the way. She has done this on every trip, and I am not sure why. She doesnt throw up on the way there, only the way back. This time I was prepared, I had swiped some air sickness bags on the plane. As it turns out, she was really sick this time, and missed the entire week of school after we came home. The flights were uneventful and we returned home safe and sound to the cold weather and snow.
My final thoughts
The crowds were great, picked up a little at the end of the week, but still totally manageable. We didnt wait in many lines at all.
Netgrocer, still will not answer my e-mails or their phones. Wont be using them again.
Large groups of people. We encountered this one group of people twice. The first at MGM at the boat dock. The line for the boat was very long, and there were about 4 or 5 people up in the line a couple of people in front of us. As the boat pulled about, about 15 more people with their group showed up and walked to the front of the line with their friends. This caused some people at the end of the line to have to wait for the next boat. A lot of people were very unhappy. Then the next day at Epcot, they did the exact same thing at the dock. I dont mind if you hold the line for a couple of your kids or a bathroom back, but not for a huge group just because you want to.
The Boardwalk, was wonderful. We are very happy with our choice to buy DVC with this as our home resort.
Our digital camera. Dh was so skeptical to even buy one at all, and I was not convinced totally but wanted a small camera when we dont want to carry the SLR. While it cant zoom like my SLR, on the outdoor pics, we cannot tell the difference between the pics taken with the two cameras. We were thrilled!!!!!
Im sure I have many other thoughts, but it took me so darn long to write this that I cant think of them at the moment.
If you are still with me thanks for reading. I know its not Delswife, but I did the best I could.
