We are trying to decide if a trip August 11 - 19 would be right for us. Can anyone please help us decide?

What are the crowds like?

What is the weather like for the most part?

Any info you can provide is helpful, thanks!!

GET A PONCHO!!!!
It will rain at least once a day..

Crowds should have subsidded somewhat during the time frame you listed. Be prepared for anything though. The past 2 years we went in August though, the longest wait we had was about 10-15 mins. Really not bad at all.

Your lucky that the hours of operation should still be the summer hours. If you go the last full week of Aug, they are shorter.

Make full use of the Early Entry. It can make a big difference. If you are there when the park opens, you get all the main rides in. When the parks start getting crowded, head back to your resort for some pool fun. Late afternoon, head back to the park. Crowds will have dissapaited some and you will be refreshed.

Will be moderately crowded, but not as bad as holidays. It will be REALLY HOT and humid. There will probably be an afternoon shower each day.

As far as the heat, you know your own limits. I went with a friend in August several years ago when we were both 22 and we were just fine, but then, we both loved hot weather. Some people don't.

If you do go, stay hydrated, and take frequent stops inside to get out of the heat. And don't forget the sunscreen!!

I've gone in August three times. I've also gone in April, May and July.

I don't mind August. The crowds were doable, as long as you use fast pass and get there early.

Last year we went August 9-16. A couple of days were really hot, and a couple were very mild. It did rain pretty much every day though, but it cooled things off.

I say GO FOR IT!!

I love August in Orlando, but I love hot and humid weather. If you don't, stay FAR, FAR away.

This info is excellent! Exactly what we're looking for. We went last year over Christmas and basically couldn't MOVE for a few days the crowds were so bad. We just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be that bad! You see, my boyfriend was laid off and is in the process of finding another job. We wanted to go before he gets one because once he does, no vacation time for us! Then in Aug. we have so many weddings and christenings and things of that nature we only had one free weekend so this was really the only week to do it! But at the same time, we don't want to spend a ton to be stuck in Christmast like crowds and rain. How long would you say the afternoon showers last? Thanks again so much for the info!!!

The showers are always short, never more than 30 minutes or so. The sun burns off the clouds before you know it. If you can, go in late August, the crowds are pretty light then.

We have gone in August for the past 6 years, it is hot, and it rains a lot. We are not going this year, and I am so very sad...
Have a great time, anytime at Disney is great...

If you go at that time I'll see you there!!:wave2: ::yes::
