First off, I think this site is awesome. I already got a bunch of good tips & info. Thanks!

Next me, wife, son (7yrs) & daughter (5yrs) are booked into Pop Century 04/22 thru 04/30. What should we expect for crowds? Is Pop ok?

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

This is our first year going at this week also, last year we went easter week. The crowds will be alot less, but I would think that this is also a spring break week for metro my and from what we had to go through to get airline and dates etc, there will be a ton of my metro people there. Most flights are booked solid. I think the weather will be near perfect and if you use fastpass and take advantage of emh and make any priority dining seatings you want well ahead of time, you should be fine. My own plan is not to do the early emh because my teens sleep late, but to do the late emh and I am fine tuning my ps now too.

We are going that week also.
I have been checking and there are still many rooms available at the WDW resorts so that is a little bit of a good sign to me that it won't be too crowded. I'm thinking moderate crowds.
If you use fast pass and get to the parks early I think you will do great.

I have not stayed at Pop but I have heard good things about it.
Keep checking this site as it has the best info on it.
Planning is the key to a good vacation at WDW :)

We have gone the last week of April for the last five years. The weather has also been great. Only had rain one, and it started at the end of the day and into the night. Stopped by the next morning.
The crowds are not that bad. Some of the more popular rides can have a long wait, but fastpass makes it easier.
The grad nights close the MK early on certain nights but it has never affected our trip.
We have never stayed at the POP so I can't help ya there.

Enjoy the trip!!

We visited Disney last April and the crowds were definately managable. We're going back this year (April 19-27 '05 - Pop Century, too!!). I would suggest that you do some planning prior to your trip...find out what parks open early for resort guests, plan where you'd like to eat your 'major' meal each day, etc. We even bought Lunchables from the grocery store when we first arrived so that we didn't have to wait in lines during lunch time. Besides, our kids get pretty antsy when their bellies are rumbling. Have a great time!!!...maybe we'll see you there :)

We will be at Pop the same time you are. 4/22-4/30

We have never stayed there, but I don't seem to read too many neg. comments. We have requested the 50 section, which is where a lot of people say is a good spot

I'm just hoping check-in isn't horrible. Our flight arrives at 7:45 pm.

I did a mother/son trip last Oct04 to the POP century and loved it!!! The Staff was very friendly. They got me much wanted MNNSHP tickets. The bell services saw my son out front with me waiting for the bus to the airport and brought him a bucket of chalk to play with. I forgot my refillable cup in the lunch area and one of the CM ran it out to me. I even got a survey from them when I returned home.

I would stay at POP anytime. I am staying at WL because my DH wanted to try it there after out last dinner at Whispering canyon. I booked us at VWL to try to talk him into DVC owership. :goodvibes

You will have a great time. My DS6 still tells everyone about the HUGE bigwheel and the BIG YOYO he went up and down in (stairway).

Just had to reply! Pop will be filled with Disers! Our first trip with 4 yr old DS at Pop from 4/22 - 4/30  Is it time to go yet? :moped:

Maglex :cloud9:

we stayed at Pop in November and were very pleased. Try to get a building as close to the buses/food court as you can. :earsboy:

Thanks for all the responses!
So I'm feeling that the crowds should be moderate, which is WAY better than 'way too crowded'! According to another website (I forget the name, but I found it here somewhere), crowds should be a 5 04/23 & 04/24, then a 3 the rest of the week (10 being busiest). Can anyone tell me what this means as far as wait times for attractions like Spash Mountsin, Runaway Railroad, stuff like that? Thanks again!

My son and I are staying at Pop April 22-30. :cool1: I requested the 50s building this time in order to be closer to the pool. Last year we were in the 70s building.

My family and I will be at Pop April 25-28 for our first visit. You should check out the list on the Theme Park board. There are a lot of Dis people going at that time and staying at Pop. Can't wait!

We are going on April 24-29, staying at OKW... I am also hoping to miss the crowds, thus the reason we are going in April instead of summer...

We'll be staying at Poly that week...our first trip with kids...last trip was at least 8 years ago! A whole new world...we're so excited! :wave2:

We went to WDW the end of Apr- first of May a couple of years back. It was the perfect week to go. The spring breakers were basically gone and the summer crowd hadn't arrived yet. The parks opened at night for the seniors (which may have kept them away during the normal operating hours). Anyway, we had a fabulous time. There were even time we didn't use our fast passes because we were told the walk was shorter taking the regular line -- and no wait there either. Weather was great; no rain and warm enough weather to enjoy Blizzard Beach and still not so hot to exhaust us by noon. :sunny:

We are getting so excited! Your report helped calm a few of my fears. We decided on this week due in part to weather. I can't tolerate the summer heat in FL as well as I used to (lived in S. FL for 10 years). Might make me into "Cranky Mommy". :confused3 I was a bit concerned about crowds due to grad nights but from your experience sounds like that's not a big issue. Hooray! :Pinkbounc Just found out my sister and her family will be there the same week...that will add to our fun. They are at another resort, but that will be fine. C'mon April!

I was wondering what "my metro"/"metro my" is...

thanks,

I think it was a typo. I think she means metro NY. NYC public schools, a few Long Island and NJ school systems are closed the last week of April for spring break. My son and I are heading to the airport as soon as he gets out of school on Friday, April 22. :moped:
