Disney Ideas.

What a great thread. All the ideas sound great. I think making themed rides accessable to ALL, thrill ride seekers and the gentler ride squad, is a must!! If you can't cope with big drops etc, so much of the park is lost to you.

Yea I agree. I think in the UK at Epcot they need to put in authentic gass street lamps, since London was the first city to have them installed. And have people dresses up like chimney sweeps come out every evening before dusk and light them. And a mini replica of Big Ben.

BTW~ Leaving for the WORLD tomorrow!!!! I can't wait!!! my plaine leaves at 2:30 p.m. and lands in Orland around 4:30 :bounce: :bounce: wa hoo!

What about a Neverland-themed playground somewhere? My first thought would be somwhere in FantasyLand but I'm afraid it would end up being too small. Maybe put one in one of the resort hotels? Or better yet, why not a Neverland themed hotel? I don't think Disney does quite enough with Peter Pan. It has such a rich background with so many ideas to exploit (good use of the term).

My second though is it sounds too much like Micheal Jackson's Neverland Ranch. I wish he never used that name. Curse him.

1) I know the idea has been kicked around before, but how about a sit-down restaurant themed on the House of Mouse? It would seem like a good thematic fit for MGM, but there maybe isn't the need for another restaurant there. MK might just work. Imagine how uber-cool it would be to be served and entertained by characters in a cartoonish nightclub setting. :cool1:
Actually, it would have to be on Main St. That's the intro, live from Main Street.

Plus, one of the features is Clarabelles' Main Street Gossip.

It would be a cool idea, but they'd have to have overvoices for the characters.

Yea, that would be a good idea, but they would have to make the building fit in witht the other ones on Main. St. The one on the show is like contemporary styled, where all the buldings on Main St. are turn of the century styled. But if they would build one on Main Street, wouldn't that kind of take away from, Tony's?

They could do a House of Mouse themed restaurant at DtD, I think. They need another character dinner since they took out Chef Mickey's. :) It would work really well at Pleasure Island, actually... and give parents who want to peak at Pleasure Island a more suitable place to take their children. I don't think the logistics of having the characters wait on you would work out, but they could have little stage shows and all the cartoons they show playing on huge screens built into the walls... I figure this would keep the kids (and adults) happy while they wait for the characters. It could be really cool.

I think the 30's theme Mickey diner would be great at MGM, though.. or, I know it's not quite period, but you could theme it more like a soda shop (drugstore ice cream parlor-esque) and put that on Main Street. You could serve burgers and fries, etc (think Beaches and Cream).. ?? All with the great balck and white to color Mickey evolution. I think it could serve as a nice, not as expensive table service restaurant... But yeah, it'd take away from Tony's, I think.

Personally, I have always liked the 1930's Mickey Mouse. I wish they would do more with that era. I was thinking a restauraunt that would show the advance of mickey. It would be like a hourly show, that would start with the whole restaurant being black and white with pictures of old mickey everywhere. Then it would slowly advance through the different decades of Mickey and become colorful. I would eat there.

Similar to the Animation Palette restaurant on the Disney cruise ships?

My ideas for new attractions:

1. I'm all for the introduction of a new "Villians" land. (Not a whole park) Perhaps at MGM where the Backlot Tour is. Similar to the style of Mickey's Toontown at MK. I know that Villians were very popular at MNSSHP.

2. Remember when Disney was thinking of opening a new theme park based on American history? I think it was going to be located in Virginia, but it was vetoed early on. I wish they would revisit that idea. The lands could be a Old South; Colonial America; Great Frontier--Wild West; NYC during Industrial Revolution (think Newsies) and maybe a America post WW2 through the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. I have no idea what type of attractions would be involved and how it would tie into Disney movies/characters. Something to ponder though.

Direct Transortation from the Boardwalk to the other Disney Hotels, so you don't have to hop a bus to a park / DTD and then over to the Boardwalk to enjoy the sites and places on the Boardwalk.

Let AP people enjoy some Extra Magic Hours once a month, week or so, have special hours for Passholders can enjoy EMH too. I would much prefer this over the Best Rate Program or the 10% off at some of the stores at DTD.

More to do at Epcot for kids, more attractions in the World Showcase. Also I like the idea of the TTA at Epcot, DH would be more willing to go with me if he didn't have to walk so much LOL

With the new addition of the Cars Stunt Show at MGM , Indiana Jones is lame and boring, it needs to be updated or replaces with something else.

Do something with Ariels Ghetto (an Ariel Ride??)

Make Mickey and Minnie's Houses more interactive then just a walk through

Something based on the Ella Enchanted Movie (magical, fairys, giants etc ) or a ride , attraction based on Tink and Friends

With the House of Mouse Idea they shoudl put it in The Toon Town Fair, wouldn't it fit best there than anywhere in the park?

I think they need to do more in Germany and France in Epcot with WWII. Maybe a little museum or something, i dunno.

The American themed park was gonna be around Washington D.C. And in an Imagnineer book I have they said that Disney is sure someday the American Park willl open.

I think that Disney is thinking about bui8lding a new park in WDW. And one of my aunt's friends said the exact same thing, I havent heard any official news but the reason we think this is because they are bulding a road that goes right through WDW, this may be for a new park. That's what they did with MGM and AK they built a new rode and then all of the sudden a park popped up. I'm not 100% sure though, it's just an inkling.

Yea, I didnt relize it at the time that it would scare the animals, besides the park usually closes at 5:00p.m.

They really should refurbish the COP. And update the last scene, it looks too much like the 80's or 90's. And definatly update the robots so they can move more smoothly like Stich. I'm sure Walt wouldn't have wanted everything else get high-tec while all of his original attractions are stuck in the 20th century.

I think they should really redo the Star Light Cafe, it starting to look kind of old too. And do something to the alien singer, not take him out, but make him better.

They need to refurbish Space Ship Earth too, really bad.

Love this!!! They could incorporate Pocahontas easily, Home on the Range would be good here, too. But they wouldn't have to incorporate movies as much as history and culture--sort of like California Adventure. This would be an awesome thing around D.C. like someone said was the idea.

Pleasure Island would be the worst place for this if they wanted to attract kids. That is an area where people no longer want to be around "mommy's little angel". It should actually be brought back to the point where they ID at the gates. Parents who want a peek at PI should leave the kids at the room. But DTD would be a good option for this restuarant.

I'm originally from the county that Disney was going to construct Disney's America in. Our county had been looking for someone to build a theme park for years and years. When Disney finally said they were coming, everyone who had lived in our county for a long time was excited. It was the people from Fairfax county to the north and the carpet baggers who had moved in recently who complained and got Disney to leave. Those people suck.

I agree with ditching Ariel's Ghetto. They took away 20,000 Leagues for this tripe? There's an Ariel attraction at MGM. Personally, I"m not a big fan of the tart with a tail.

I also liked the idea someone had of a park with the older attractions. It would free up room at MK or any other park for newer attractions, while leaving classics for future generations.

I want a Matterhorn on the East Coast too.

Rather dull idea, but maybe Fantasyland could have a rehab to look more like it's Anahaim sister. It's a bit too spread out and concrete filled to correctly portray the look they were going for.

That's all I can fault! Well... no.. it would be if you gave me a detonator for several sticks of dynamite in a condemned Contemporary lobby.

Expedtion Everest is a remake of the Matterhorn.

I'm from around the area where they were gonna have the American park too, so I was really excited when I heard Disney was gonna build it. then those stupid people didnt want it, so Disney left. But luckily Disney is still thinking about it.

While I agree that Pleasure Island should be adult only, it's not. And parents do bring their children there... and try to take them in the places that don't have an age limit.. Having something there that would draw the people with kids that already there could only make the situation better (IMHO)--unless, of course, Disney was willing to make the whole of PI 18 and up, which would be fine by me.

I completely agree with you! Disney is known as FAMILY theme park and the villians would not be appropriate at all. I also believe that Disney should leave some of the extreme thrill rides to other parks. Disney is all about sending out good morals, being creative, and encouraging the imagination and discovery, not scaring the life out of people. In my opinion, this is one of the main reasons that Disney knows how to create the best parks, unlike others i.e. Universal! :earsboy:

I have to disagree with you on this one. Disney is all about families being able to spend time together. By bringing in the few thrill rides that they do have, they enable families with teenagers or near teenagers to still spend time together at a clean, (relatively) safe place, that place being Disney. Everyone has choice of whether or not to go on a certain ride and I don't think that thrill rides discourage good morals. I personally would like to see a few more thrill rides at Disney. (But then again, I'm a thrill ride junkie and my DS12 is now turning into one.) That way, there is something for everyone in the family. Don't get me wrong, there is no way that I would stop going to Disney if they didn't put up more thrill rides, but this is just my opinion.
