We're trying to decide what Deluxe to stay in for two nights before a Magic cruise. Which one would you stay in and why?

For a cruisin' mood?

Let's see... Westen Cruise = Coronado Springs or Old Key West (can you stay there if you're not a member?)

Yacht Club or for that Tropical feeling the Poly...

they're all nice....
and all will put you in the disney mood...
let's see....which hotels are deluxe? Grand Floridian, the Yacht Club/Beach Club, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Polynesian...any others?...probably the Contemperary is still considered deluxe...

so...of those i'd stay in either the Grand Floridian (GF) or the Yacht Club (YC).....
as to why?....the YC (together with the BC) have the best pool on property (stormalong bay)....so if that's important to you then by all means go for the YC/BC (we prefer the YC's decor, but they're basically the same hotels other than the decor)...it's also within walking distance of EPCOT and boating distance to MGM, which is very nice and convenient...

as for the GF...this is our favorite....specifically the GF sugarloaf lodge concierge.....why?....i can't really explain why it is, it's just the one that's most magical to us....and of course, it's on the monorail line to the magic kingdom which is very convenient...
but this is a very subjective opinion....everyone is going to have their own favorites.....

but having said the above, i have to add that we've stayed in almost every hotel on disney property (all except the caribean beach) and each and every one is magical in its own way (including the budget rate All Star resorts).....

I think I would have to vote for the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom! They both have exceptional decor!! Wilderness Lodge has a really really good restaurant right up front, and Animal Kingdom you get to see all the animals roaming around.........how cool is that! The only disadvantage I think to Animal Kingdom, is it is out in the middle of no where kinda, but not that big a deal.

I do have to agree with Disneyholic Family - the YC/BC has an awesome pool.

Stay in the WDW hotel of your choice. Then do a character dinner the night before the cruise, like Chef Mickey's. THAT will get you in the Disney mood.

Have Fun!
