We just booked our flights for our Jan. 1-7th 2010 trip (!!!!!!!!!:cool1:!!!!!!!!!) so now comes the hard part - deciding on a hotel!

Originally I was 100% into staying in a non-Disney hotel. But now.. I'm having second thoughts and find myself trying to work out the extra costs of staying in a Disney hotel.

So, what rack rates can I expect for these dates for the three hotels? For some reason Disneyland rates seem to be a LOT harder to find than WDW. Or maybe I'm just missing something...

Also, what recommendations would you have for getting discounts? Does AAA offer any discounts? Any news on new promotions?

Thanks for your help!

January is a tough time because they typically do not release rates until the fall of the previous year. Which makes planners like us crazy!:headache: The first few days are still part of "Christmas season" and will be high, but the 3-7 should be very cheap. Onsite or Off. Just keep checking to see what is available. Good luck!:)

January usually has special Annual Passholder rates at the resort hotels. It might save a bunch of $$ for one of you to get an AP instead of a Park Hopper for the resort hotel rates and also the 10% discount on food.

When are the AP rates usually released and how can I go about viewing them? Also, to the poster who mentioned the first few days being more expensive, is it the same as WDW where if your trip overlaps "rate seasons" the entire trip is charged with the most expensive season?

Really appreciate the input DISers :goodvibes

I would just book a non disney hotel for now and wait for Disney to release the 2010 rates and then compare..at least that way you have something for back up..AAA offers discounts on a lot of hotels
