Hi,
I have been speaking to a work collegue that goes to Disney quite often as she owns property in Orlando.
She tells me that she normally spend the morning in the parks then goes to one of the disney hotels and uses the pools for the afternoon before returning to the park.
Is this allowed????
I really have not thought of doing this before as I thought that if you have not booked in to the hotel then this would not be fair to the people who had paid for it.
She tells me that this is common practice and the fact that you have bought disney tickets allows you to use disney property facilities.
Anyone know the rules please?

Sorry but it's a defo 'No-No', Lynda.

It seems 'pool-hoppin' was common practice by some a while ago but is definitely not a 'park ticket' perk. The facilities are there and paid for by resort guests. They are clamping down by doing room key checks around the pools and asking non-residents to leave. Not something I'd like to have happen in public.

We saw them doin checks around ASMu last year and heard on these boards of particular vigilance by CMs at the higher-end resorts.

You are perfectly welcome to visit the Resorts and use their dining and refreshment facilities - seems only the pools are 'off limits'.

Unfortunately this is really not allowed although I'm sure lots of people try to do it. Hotel staff can ask you to prove you're staying at the hotel if you are using the pool.
If you head over to the US boards and do a search on the 'Resorts' board you'll see this comes up quite often and causes some pretty intense debate. You can't even use a Disney hotel pool if you're staying at another Disney hotel - only if you're aa DVC member - they have a special agreement for pool use.

Thank you,

I did not think it would be okay to do this, I can also understand why, It sounds like she has just been very fortunate not to be asked to leave, glad I asked though I would have been very embarrased to have tried this and been asked to leave.
We have used the restaraunts on property before though so I am glad that that is okay.
