Have many of you done this??

I signed us up for this.. and I received our gift card in the mail the other day and entered it on the website. But I'm a bit confused on it. I don't really want to pick specific things. Is there a way that people can just put money on it that we can use on anything.

I also want some way to tell people about it. Like with target, they give you little cards to put in your invitations.. is there anything likethis? How did those of you who have done it, tell people? This is what we want more than gifts or anything.

In terms of adding funds, whatever people "buy" you, they are actually just adding funds to the gift card - you can then spend that money on whatever you want. You can also simply add increments of what they call "Fantasy Funds" so people don't feel they are buying you anything specific.

As for telling people, I put the link on my wedding website, and also made it available on the Facebook group we set up for our wedding. A couple of people called my mum, and she let them know the website address and the phone number.

I hope that helps :wizard:

We're not doing it because our honeymoon won't be at Disney, but from what I understand even though people purchase the items on the registry, it is really all just given to you in a giftcard anyway and you can spend it on whatever during your trip.

I would pick specific things because people will want to get you "something" rather than just a giftcard. And they won't really know if you decide not to use it for that after all.

You could put it on your wedding website if you have one. I have also seen little cards done with a bridal shower invite that lists the registries, and of course word of mouth.

You can't really tell people that's what you'd rather have unless they ask...best you can do is tell your BP and Mom and if people ask they can pass the message along.

We ended up picking out a few favorite restaurants and events that had different increments and a few "fantasy funds" so that every one could choose the particular amount they wanted. In reality, we probably won't make it to half of those places, but we can always spend it on other fun things! And they never expire, so you can use them on your next trip as well!

I'd go for it...we did and it's working out great so far....and like other's have said, whatever people "buy" you it all just goes on the gift card and you can use it for whatever you want and best of all never expires...we're hoping to have enough on ours to day off our trip at 45 days

You can't use it at places in Disney that don't accept gift cards, but almost everywhere does.

The one problem I've heard of so far is booking tours - you have to pay in advance, and they don't accept gift cards.

We had mixed experiences with the GC for honeymoons, but overall we loved it.

This was the only stumbling block for us. It was a pain to book tours, but the pains ended up working out to our advantage in the end. It was such trouble to book the tours that it literally took weeks to do... but the CMs ended up accidently booking us multiple times, so our tours ended up being really small. ;) Also, the tour people felt bad for us, so we got some really nice perks!!

We were excited that the funds never expire since we had a few hundred dollars left on our card upon checkout. We were planning to save them until our next trip, but the CM helping us checkout asked us if we'd like our GC funds credited to our credit card. Of course we did! So, we ended up getting a nice credit on our card! Sweet! :thumbsup2

We had a great experience with it! I learned that people do want to "buy" you something in particular so I went ahead and registered for things that I already knew we would be doing. We actually used the card to pay for our stay at Coronado but this way it helped when I was writing Thank you cards to actually talk about the things people "bought" for us!

There is actually a spot when you log in to manage your registry that you can print out slips for your invites. The look similar to all the other one's from the stores they just have the website and a little message, the only thing it does not have on them is the bride and grooms name. I printed them out to put into my invites and had no problems.

Where exactly is this on the page? I'm probably just overlooking it, but I can't find it anywhere. That is exactly what I'm wanting!

Has anyone else been having issues with the registry? My guests can't seem to get in. I've tried myself. I get in on occasion, but most of the time the drop down box for the month doesn't work. I thought it was my computer, but I've tried it at work, my moms, and a guest tried it on his computer and it didn't work either.

It's kind of frustrating, as my wedding website didn't work for the longest time either and that's the link to the registry I gave my guests.

They want our guests to use their registry as it's money for them, but they can't seem to work out the kinks.

When you log in if you go to the registry tab then to settings and preferences it has an option to choose your theme and print enclosures for invites. When disney does an update the months never appear until they fix it I called once and they had it fixed within an hour.

This might be an off question, I'm sorry in advance because I really don't know how this works, but:

Can you use the funds from the registry card on things like Adventures by Disney, Disney Cruise Line, etc?

You can use them for the Disney Cruise Line if you haven't made your final payment yet. If you have, you will only be able to use the card for expenses onboard the ship. I'm not sure about Adventures By Disney, but if they let you pay by Disney gift card, then yes!
