Tired Cast:
Dave, Freda, Devon, Mickey and Rene'
Woke up at 2 am. with heartburn. I guess yummy greasy cheesburgers and too much ice cream don't mix. I never have heartburn. But I am a prepared Mother. I stumble around looking for the tums. Tried to get back to sleep. Someones at our door!? Dave says "excuse me wrong door". They say - just re-programming the doors. What? Hello, it's 3 am. They finally leave and now Dave is up asking for tums. Back to try to sleep, a little ticked.
Had to do a load of laundry today. Did that while I had coffee and writing. It would have been cheaper for me to buy us all new undies!! But then I would have had to wash those anyway. Oh, well.
Today the inevitable happened. We had one of THOSE days! Really we were due for one, seeing as we have been here for a week already and are going home tomorrow.
We were all lazy and let everyone sleep. We finally got up and headed to AK lodge to check it out. Nice but dark, but I still enjoyed looking. Browsed through their shops. Had lunch at the Mara. Had 4 vouchers left so I wanted to use them and do resort hopping. The kids did not like doing this, they thought "what's the point" if we can't swim in the pools. But Mom had to be kept happy too!!
We used the vouchers for 1 fish and chips and 1 chicken pizza. The fish I thought was really good and a generous portion. The pizza was just OK and where's the chicken? We had 2 cokes and for dessert we picked a cheesecake and an apple strudel type pie - this one wasn't as good as the one at MGM. We also bought another side of chicken strips and fries for Mick. We did get a side of bread sticks with the pizza, and these were very good.
Roamed around a bit longer, but didn't see one animal.
Left to cruise down 192. The kids remember going to shell world on our last trip and wanted to go back. First we drove through the town of Celeration, which was also sort of on my to do list. Squeeky clean. I asked the family to point out anything that was less than perfect. Dave said.......it can't be that perfect if they have to use 2X4's to keep the palm trees up!! HeeHee!
. Hummmm.....that's true! Hit shell world for the kids, I sat in a rocking chair out front. My stomach was still going out for a ride and doing wheelies.
Here I sat and found a map showing us where the character corner was at Premiere Outlets. Not too far from here. Dave agreed to go since it was close. I bought a few things, hair barretts for the girls and lots of those mouse ears shaped candles. Only 50c. They are 2$ in the World!! Woohoo.....my deal of the day. I still think the Character Warehouses are MUCH better at Belz.....lots more merchandise.
Back to Movies. We swam for a few hours and tanned, that was nice because I knew tomorrow I'd be shovelling snow......I'm not kidding.....and I was right!
From here I stopped journalling because things went down hill. The plan was to go to WL (my husband likes it here) and try out the camp fire night, then head over to Beaches and Cream again to use my last two vouchers and more of that glutten for punishment ice cream!! Yum! Well.........we spent 6 hours on Disney transportation getting from here to there only to find out a) Dave didn't want to go back to WL- I've seen it already-OK b) The camp fire thing was a lilltle slowwwwww and lame c)when we finally got to Beaches and Cream there was an hour wait-ouch
. What to do. We head back to Movies which took forever...........and had a bearly passable meal of cheeseburgers, fries, choc milk and brownies. No substitution for Beaches and Cream. By now we were tired, cranky and ready to call it a week. But we did have a few laughs over our afternoon misfortunes. I tried...... Mom can't always get EVERYTHING right. Plus we did have an awsome week. Lots of great memories and fun times.
