Monday, Nov 17 Day 4
Cast:
Dave, Freda, Devon, Mickey and Rene'
Did I mention that I am paying for this trip. One of the main reasons my husband said we could go. If you can pay for it, we'll go! I have two measly part time jobs, so this was not easy. But I've been buying things ahead of time since spring to avoid one big credit card bill. No christmas shopping for me..........well not much anyway!!
Ahhhhh! Nov in shorts. This feels so nice! Christmas decorations are up and really enjoyable to see. Dave says..........I'd like to see their floral bill!
Headed out while everyone was snoozing for coffee poolside and writing.
Today's plans are breakfast at Cape May Cafe' and Tea at the GF
Lovely darling.......perfectly lovely! Oh yeah and DQ for the guys (no not Dairy Queen, Disney Quest).
Got on the bus to DTD, which seemed to take forever. Ok we probably won't make it there in time. Ok I was right. We were 5-10 min late, the hostess said no problem. It took us awhile to find the restaurant. Nice leisurely breakfast. The older kids HATE the attention from the characters? What? I guess they think they are too old. Chip or Dale got all smoochy on Mick and that too was another trend for the week. Everytime we saw one of the those chipmunks we'd say......hey we heard you were a real smoocher and she (Mick) loves that!! Ha! Take that after dishing out all that $ for character breakfasts!! Loved the food though, just too much of it. I could have taken a box of those Krispy Kremes along.....drool! I guess I didn't care for the pepperoni omlette. The only place that belongs is on a pizza! Fruit was ripe, not hard as rock and tasteless! I had pre-paid this breakfast with vouchers from Paramount, saved a few dollars. The free vouchers I got we used Friday when we went to Chef Mickeys.
We split up here. The guys went off to Disney Quest and had a great time. Devon is really into video games so I'm glad they had fun and I got my 42 $ worth out of them.
The girls and I strolled toward the beach and watched some surrey bikers and remembered we did that on our last trip. When they were done playing in the sand we caught a freindship boat to MGM just for the fun of it. From there we took the bus back to Movies. It was getting hot and luckily the waiter gave me extra juice boxes from breakfast......they came in handy. Thank you Nick!
Back at Movies we got dressed up for Tea at the Plaza. I mean the GF.
I had dragged the girls froo-froo(flowery fancy) hats all the way from MN and they WERE going to wear them. I sort of had to drag them there. We took the bus to MK where we got on the monorail, our first time this trip. The girls loved it but didn't admit it.
Snooped around the GF. Drop dead gorgeous esp. with all the christmas goodies. Ohhh my.....lovely. Mean while the girls were sitting twirling their hats on the coffee tables, very unlady like. We also ran into the mad hatter and Alice who were on there way to the Kiddy Tea. It looked cute but maybe a little too pre-schoolish for my kids. The Alice in Wonderland penny press was jammed. I really liked this one, figures.
Finally the Tea ladies were finished folding the days napkins, and chatting. I'd love to have eavesdropped.......do you think they said.......can you imagine taking a 2 yr old to tea? What was that lady thinking yesterday? And eating sugar cubes one after another? How perfectly rude! And not much of a tip either. Well one can only imagine. HEEHEE! Were finally seated and I think our server was Pat. The girls did fairly well. We had one Mrs. Potts tea, 1 coke for Mick and green organic citrus tea for me. We really enjoyed being waited on so graciously. Rene's tea pot even came with a cozy - so cute. The sandwiches were tiny but very fresh. I had one bite out of each. I didn't think Rene' would like the tuna, but she wolfed it down. Then they each got to pick a petite four from the tray. Mick picked a fruit tart, which I didn't get to try. Rene' picked a tiny checkerboard type cake. Wasn't as good as it looked - just cake. All in all a very relaxing time. Loved the tea - I'm Canadian you know. You can tell you have nice tea when you don't have to sweeten it to death. Rene's rules on the sugar cubes were, pick tongs to bowl then on plate then in mouth........OK that one went right from pick tongs to mouth.......time to leave!! Ooooh they even served me ice in a fruit nappy. Bill came to about 18$ with tip. Worth it! Nice, Nice, Nice.
Returned via the same route back to Movies. The girls were itching to swim. Later they had to have their hair wrapped. We've done this before so we only did 6 inches each. Rene' has waist length hair and the guy really didn't want to cut it off when he finished, so he put it in a ribbon for her to take home......sweet.
Waited for the guys to get back so we could make dinner plans. This was not to be. They only came back at 9:30!! WHAT? WHERE WERE YOU? ARRRRR??
Then they gave me pearl earrings!! Now they were mad at me for being mad. I felt like I wasted half a Disney Day waiting for nothing. They had picked an oyster and it had twins, so they made them into earrings for me. Nice, but I was still a little ticked. Oh, well. Tomorrows another day, lets get some
sleep.
Oringinally planned to do Epcot next but seeing MK today made me want to get there, so thats next. Gotta get to sleep, can't go to MK crabby!
