Cast:
DH: Dave,41 - a "what can brown do for you?" guy.
Me: Freda,39 - Americanized Canadian, planner, Disney lover, live for adventurous vacations
DS: Devon, 12 - easy going
DD: Mickenzy, 10 - we call her Mickey (named after you know who) or when we're mad just MICK! A HOLY JESSE THE COW GIRL, GET OUT OF MY WAY, FOOT STOMPING, PISTAL PACKING TYPE!
DD: Rene' (Ne'Ne') 6 - easy going
The Plan:
On our last trip we over planned and were beyond exhaustion. We wanted to take it a little more easy this time and enjoy our resort more.
Home for the week: All Star Movies - room 1930 - Dalmations building, asked for Toy Story, but good enough.
Up and atem' at 3:15 am. My son says - "the guys on Holes don't even have to get up that early to shovel"
I drove, my husband already drives too many hours and miles, and I was adrenaline pumped anyway! Down to Mspl/St. Paul to pick up friend Kevin to drive us to airport.
Everything goes fine through security (meaning Mom didn't forget anything!), except they took my paring knife I brought to cut up fruit. Fine. Flight was nice and smooth, I hate any turbulence. The girls and I had a fun time (their first flight). Son had a boring time with Dad, that's because he was sitting with a stranger and had to behave! Ha!
Arrived in Orlando 15 min early. Loved seeing those palm trees. My first thought is....."why would anyone want to live in MN if you could live here? Get onto the baggage shuttle......fun!fun! Love that Florida smell!
Went up to the Dollar Fast Lane aisle. No one there but me, but had to wait 5 min. for what? Finally they call me over...your car will be ready in about 20 min. Thank goodness I picked the Fast Lane plan!
We waited in the corner with the antsy kids. After about 20 min I walked up to the desk to see if they were looking for me yet. They said I was next. I asked again (different attendants) about a possible upgrade.......after all I had 2 upgrade coupons burning a hole in my pocket. Ya...if you want to drive a Astro Mini Van? Yahoo! I'm not going to pretend I'm some hot, single babe that can only get by driving a convertible. OOOH, nice and rooming, no skin on skin contact. Pretty good.
Off and driving. Found a Super Target to buy a few snacks for the room. It's always nice to be prepared with a semi-truck load of food for the youngens! Bought nuts, cheese, Pop, juice, milk, chips, fruit and pantyhose(for our TEA outing later). 22$
Checked in at Movies. Decided we were still up to going to Typhoon Lagoon. Had to find some towels to take along first. Why would I actually pay money to rent them when I could just borrow some. Ya - I'm cheap. Took a Disney bus, a little slow, but we were anxious! Swam and enjoyed that wave pool for 2-3 hours. Gotta love how parents throw their precious wee ones in the air while avoiding the slam of those huge waves. Oh well they seem to love it! They closed at 5, so we had to leave.
Back to Movies and change. By this time we were starving. Drove our rental to Coranado Springs to try the Pepper Market. Interesting place. Very cute. Now I had bought 20 of those Q and C vouchers. I thought that with a family of 5, there was no way we would not eat 20 meals. I was right, smart Mom. We used 3 vouchers here. 3 steak dinners, 3 sides..........nachos with cheese sauce (not market nachos), chicken noodle soup, and strawberries, 3 smoothies........2 blue lemonade,1 mango(sweet, just the way I like it) and don't forget the 3 desserts. Two words YU........UM! We picked, honeybun, cheesecake(huge chunk)and the oreo cake(looked way better than it tasted). Devon, my chocoholic wolfed this down. Great first meal! I have to add here that if you had never been here and not read about how they work it could get confusing and possibly ugly. I asked about the "SIDES" I could have and the cooks said "don't know" or "no". I finally asked a manager for a little help on this and she said yes. When I went to pay, the cashier said I had to pay for those and I reminded her that I had asked the manager and she said "fine". I kind of got 2 different answers all over the place with these, I just tried to always ask politely what I could get away with and what I'd have to pay extra for. I have to save some $ for my next vacation you know!!
Back to Movies to unpack and organize for our day tomorrow, MGM. Everyone crashed at 9 pm. , about 30 seconds after lights out.
Favourite Disney Movie line: Kronk the lever.........wrong le..e...e...ever!! - Emperors New Groove
