Would you use your DVC points to spend a week here, use the points at Paradise Pier or split between both and why. We are 2 adults, with 1 adult and 1 teen daughter.

Thank you!

I'm confused as to why you'd spend points to stay at Paradise Pier since it is part of the Disney Collection and points useage there is higher than the Grand which, IMO, is a far superior property. The cheapest room at PP for 1 night is 25 points, while a studio at VGC during the lowest point time is 17 points for a night. I would stay at VGC anytime for as long as possible :)

I agree with Nunzia. While the PP is a nice hotel, it is not quite the destination that the GC is. The PP is a hotel that Disney bought and converted to a resort while the GC is a custon built resort similar to those at WDW. Also, PP is farther from the parks and staying there will cost you more points plus a $95 fee to use those points in the Disney collection. Those points would then be Reservation Points and if you had to cancel for any reason they would not be usable at a DVC resort.

As I said, PP is a fine resort and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there...just not when the GC is an option. If I had to split a stay I would do PP first and then move to the GC but it sounds like the OP has enough points for a full stay at the GC so that would be my first choice.

Agreed. If you can get VGC for the entire time do it! the resort is spectacular.

We did a split stay with the Disneyland Hotel but only because we couldn't get the last 2 nights we wanted at VGC.

There isn't the $95 fee for booking at the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier. Otherwise, I agree completely with this.

I'd stay at the GCV the entire time if possible. If not, I'd do a GCV and Disneyland Hotel split. The PPH is a huge let down after the GCV. My kids called it the Paradise Poo Hotel.

I would definitely stay at the VGC the entire time. It is the best location at the DLR and the resort is AWESOME, plus the points are a better value.

The VGC are awesome!!! It is head and shoulders above the others IMO!

I would try and stay at VGC the entire trip, if you can get the reservation. It is our favorite Disney Resort of all that we've tried. I've stayed at both The Disneyland Hotel & Paradise Pier Hotel, and while nice, they just don't compare to the Grand!

As others have said VGC all the way if it is available. It is seriously beautiful hotel!

I do not hesitate to use my points at DLR, as the DVC availability is low. PP is the least expensive option of the three outside of the villas, thus it is a good choice. Good luck and have fun!

Just be sure the points you are using are able to trade into the Disney Collection, as resale points purchased after March 2011 no longer have this option.

Also, PP is farther from the parks and staying there will cost you more points plus a $95 fee to use those points in the Disney collection.
As mentioned, the $95 fee to use the Disney Collection at DLR is waived, as the DVC options are few and they didn't want to alienate the west coast members who are more apt to use their points at DLR.
