Disney going smoke free

If Disney went smoke free completely (not allowed even designated smoking areas) as a private business decision, would you be more inclined to go, less inclined to go or neutral about it?

I'm assuming WDW restaurants are smoke free because of FL law--not sure what laws are for CA, Japan, Hong Kong or Paris.

Any thoughts?

I don't think it would have an influence on how often we go but I would absolutely love it if the parks went completely smoke free.

I totally agree with this. What bugs me is that a number of the pretty areas with nice benches and nice views, are smoking areas. The area in Liberty Square is a great example. It's nice and shady with pretty trees, very relaxing..and it's a smoking area. Ugh. Bums me out.

that would be a horrible business decision for disney. a lot of people who tend to control most of the family financial uses (aka parents) smoke, my father included. if they dont have some place for them to go when they need one it wont exactly be a "magical day" and if those parents arent happy theyre far less likely to buy stuff for their kids, which of coarse means less money for disney, which they would rather not let happen.

i hope i explained that the way i meant to and you all get it

Yeah, that bothers me too. There is a really nice area with tables near the Plaza overlooking the water and rose garden that is a smoking section. I would love to take a sundae and eat it there, but I just can't stand all the smoke. It also really bothers me when people in the parks decide not to go to the smoking areas and just smoke where ever they feel like it. My brother has asmtha and can't handle smoke, so it makes it even worse when someone is walking near us smoking away.

I would love it if disney went smoke free, but it wouldn't influence my going there. It would probably only influence those who are smokers, since it would be quite a hassel for them to find a place to smoke outside of WDW.

I've been to both Paris and Hong Kong this year. I agree with an earlier poster that Paris has smoking areas but it is not enforced. I saw smoking going on all over the place.

Hong Kong, by comparison, also has smoking areas but I definitely saw a cast member ask a smoker to move when he sat down in a non-smoking area and lit up.

I absolutely have no problem with Disney having non-smoking areas but they need to enforce them. Having customers just smoke anywhere they like isn't fair to the non-smokers; we typically end up looking like the bad guy if we ask a smoker to take their cigarette elsewhere.
