Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

Just spent the afternoon catching up. Lets see where to start.

I now must purchase Toy Story Mania for Wii and the Monopoly game.

Iteneriary 4.0 looks great. Y&Y is now one of my new favorites since our August trip.

So glad Marc got his TV and his Wii. These things work great in getting more Disney trips. For my DH it is hunting stuff.

Cant wait until I can start thinking about ADR's again.

Your pictures look great, good job with the weight loss.

Oh my am I far behind! LL, you look great!! Congrats. So sorry about your doctors appt. I hope it goes better at the end of the month.

Your ADRs look great! Kona is amazing! Soooo yummy! You're wise, Grasshopper, to let the ADR making control go.

Disney Monopoly looks fun. We playing Disney Scene It again this weekend and Minnie's base broke off. Poor girl!

YES YES and YES again!!! We would love for you to join us!!!!!!!

So I used to be a pepper but I had to give it up on my way to the new and healthier me!!! Sometimes though if I think really hard on it I can imagine drinking one...and its oh so good LOL!!!
I think C is ignoring us. ;):rolleyes1

I'm so glad that you have given up soda because if you ordered some in January I might jump across the table at you and steal it. I may or may not have bought Dr. Pepper chapstick today to make myself feel better. :rolleyes1

I really enjoyed the Wave on our last trip but my Dh was only so-so on it.

However, the blue lighting in the lounge they have makes for interesting picture taking.
I remember reading your Wave review, if that's what we get I'll have to go read it again. I am sure I can find something anywhere.

I'm a pepper too. Although I have been known to mix it up.

With Mountain Dew.

LL I'm doing a digital media project for a bariatric surgery group right now. They said that soda relapse is one of the number one things people try early on that they aren't supposed to.

And apparently whatever happens is so bad that they never try it again? :scared1:

I don't know, they guy was explaining it to us but it is one of the post surgery things we are addressing in this online presentation....

Be careful!
I've heard the pressure and carbonation can really bother your new smaller stomach. I know that eventually I will try it. I can't imagine not ever drinking soda again. If it's bad I'll learn my lesson. I'm going to keep up not drinking it thought for a long while. :headache:

Your plans are looking really great! Is your ADR day this Sunday? I hope your TA does a good job for you and you are able to snag everything.

I cannot allow myself to think of Disney food right now, it just makes my stomach growl and want to clean the cupboards!!! :rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear about the difficulty with the band and all that....I hope it all goes smoothly on the 27th and you don't have to endure another surgery. :sad2: But, AWESOME NEWS on the weight loss!!!!! Congratulations!! You are looking fantastic!! I hope you are able to snag some great new clothes that fit well and that you like. :thumbsup2
Yes, ADR day was today!

My surgeon is really hopeful that on the 29th he'll be able to get my first fill in no problem. I'm hoping so too. I think I'm going to bring my ipod and zone out while he tries. I really can't go through that stress again.

Your ADR wish list looks great. I am looking forward to hearing if your TA does a good job for you.
Me too. :rotfl:

Great ADR's. What's this?????......two dinners at BD???? Nice!

Yak n Yeti for lunch sounds great.

I loved LTT for lunch. I didn't get the fried cheese, but my sandwich was to die for. I am definately going back so Denny and I can split lunch because it was way too much food for one person.

Question....why the heck do my tickers show two different countdown when they are for the same date!?! My OCD is kicking into overdrive. It's making me bonkers.

All your ADRs sound really yummy. I also love the Plaza. I think I better go back and look at the rest of them again.

Oh yeah....toss up between Kona and the Wave. Really like both of them, but the tuna oscar I just had at Kona was out of this world!
I'm not so sure I'll get the fried cheese either. They have a crab dip listed and that sounds really yummy too or I may just get the salad. Who knows. I can't wait to eat there though!

I loved Kona Cafe when I went last September. I think I'd get the crab cakes though, they were SO GOOD. I was jealous that Marc ordered them and I only got a bite. :rotfl:

Wow LL-I've been off the boards for 3 days_I'm impressed you aren't up to Version 5.0-:lmao:

Nice ADRs-two BD's and breakfast at 1900-you'll get to see Mary Poppins and Alice & Mad Hatter...:yay:
Oh, just you wait. I'm working on 5.0 already. I'm really excited about seeing Mary Poppins, it will be a great last morning meal I think.

Morning LL,
My last trip was 11 days and it still wasn't enough. This next trip we'll be back to 8 days because DD friend will have to get back to work, but if not for that I'd do 11 days in a snap.
I'm feeling iffy on the 11 days. I've been thinking about shortening again. Hey, it wouldn't be one of my PTRs if I didn't have at least 100 changes. :rotfl2:

Much good eating. All the ones in red we have not tried, so we'll look forward to seeing the pictures. We'll be eating dinner at Kona one week from today, and I'm very excited for that!

I hope you guys do get to eat together. That will be fun.

I stopped drinking sodas long ago just for money saving purposes. I got used to water, and I rarely drink anything else but water any more. With pizza, I might drink a Diet Dr. Pepper, but with anything else, I'm pretty much water, water, water. It's hard for me to think of regularly drinking a sweet drink with a meal now, it's become such habit to drink water.
Can't wait to hear how you like Kona! It really is much cheaper when you give up soda. Unfortunately, right now the only way I can make sure I drink all the water I need too is to buy bottled, it forces me to drink more. I'm not as good if I'm feeling a mug of water. I'm weird like that.
I'm not surprised I see Brown Derby on there twice. But my question is are you planning on eating the same meal or will you vary your menu choices?
I will probably get two different things, I'm crazy like that.

Hey You! I've missed you around here. What did you eat at Y&Y, I'm curious. Thanks on the weight loss!

I'm quite proud of myself for letting go. I want to play Disney Scene It but Marc won't let me buy it, he says he doesn't want to buy a game he can never win. :rotfl2:

Today is the big ADR day....

....and I didn't remember that it was until I was driving home from my training at Noon! Can you believe that? I had to laugh at myself. I think this letting go of control thing is working for me! :thumbsup2

So how did we do?

I have no idea.

My TA has not emailed me yet. She told me she would when they were all made. I have a feeling that since 1900 Park Fare wouldn't fall under the Plus 10 rule today that she might email tomorrow after she's made that one. It makes me a little nervous but really in the grand scheme of things...there are tons of places that Jen and I want to eat so we'll find new ones if we have too.

In honor of ADR day I have a fun food fact. I got this from the diningindisney.com website that DreaGirl posted on her PTR.

31,000 Cobb salads are tossed every year at The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney-MGM Studios. The original recipe for the dressing, created in 1926, still tops the salads.

Mmmmm. I want Cobb Salad for dinner tonight! :yay:

Over the last few days I've been seriously thinking about shortening my trip. I'm feeling overwhelmed by that many days. Also it would save me a bunch of money if I just went when Jen did, so much money that I might be able to squeeze in a solo Fall trip if the girls who went this Fall go again this year. :rolleyes1 I'm bummed I had to miss out on it this year due to my surgery but I can't justify an 11 day trip and then another solo trip. My husband will demand his surround sound and that is something I just can't give in on. :rotfl2:

I'm going to continue thinking on it for a few more days to see how I feel. I'm not going to make a rash decision and regret it.

I've been looking into a Park & Fly Hotel too. With me coming in on a Tuesday night, it's hard for Marc to take the time off of work, especially since he'll be taking 3-4 weeks off for his surgery. He wants to save some of his time for a full week of vacation sometime this summer. I found a hotel that has a free shuttle and parking for up to a week, so I'm going to call tomorrow and see how much it is. I also like the idea of spending the night before I leave because with New England winters, you never know what kind of weather you are going to get into. So it gives me extra time for driving to get to the airport safely if need be.

I am LOVING the fact that I get to go to Florida in the middle of winter. It's an awesome feeling knowing that for a week I'll get away from the snow! WOO HOO!

I feel like I keep using the same warm fuzzies for Jen over and over. Am I duplicating them or am I just going crazy?

Jen: Pressing the wrong buttons at the wrong times during Mission Space and still making it to Mars okay!

LL: The anticipation of rope drop.

And another Where In Disney?

Hey You! I've missed you around here. What did you eat at Y&Y, I'm curious. Thanks on the weight loss!

I shared the ribs with DS. I think I might have eaten 1 rib and then we had the wontons for dessert. It was all very good. I am actually trying to get my stuff together to maybe start a TR :rotfl: (yeah right) and I have some pictures of the food. I love this place, one of my new favorites.

I hope she lets you know soon. I like the idea of the park and fly place. You are right about your New England weather. We did have about 5-6 inches of snow out here yesterday :scared1: It already melted but it is the first time in 10 years that we had snow before my parents did in Maine.

Love your "where in Disney" photos although I've yet to figure any of them out! Can't believe you forgot it was ADR day!! What freedom! I'll be anxious to hear what you think once you've heard from your TA. Have I mentioned how jealous I am of your January trip?? :rolleyes1 And how much I want to go back? :rolleyes1

I say you come!! Oh yes I say that you must come LOL!!!!

Looking forward to seeing what you get for your ADRs!!!! :goodvibes I think your possible plan/idea about a trip next fall in exchange for 7 days vs. 11 this time round, sounds like a good strategy! :thumbsup2

Wow! I can't believe that today was your ADR day -- how did that sneak up on us so quickly?

How did your training go this morning?

I love the Cobb Salad fact -- I like knowing that I am eating the same recipe that was created in 1926 for the dressing. Too cool!

I say go for the shorter trip so we can all go in the fall again! :thumbsup2

I hope you get all of your ADRs!!!

Is that Country Bear Jamboree?
I hope so too.

It is!!

I think you SHOULD start a TR. Please, Please, Please!! ;) :rolleyes1

UGH. I would cry if it snowed right now. I am so not ready for that yet. We seem to get snow worse than where my parents live but they live right on the seacoast so sometimes they get more of a mix than actual snow.

I have the same guess as Native NYer, but is that way to obvious?
I thought this one would be harder but yet, it's the Country Bears.

It is freedom! Normally I would have already called a second time and changed some of them.

SERIOUSLY, I think you should join us in January. It would be a lot of fun!! Just saying....:rolleyes1

I say you come!! Oh yes I say that you must come LOL!!!!
See, we both want you to come! Heck, we live close enough together that we could fly down together.

Looking forward to seeing what you get for your ADRs!!!! :goodvibes I think your possible plan/idea about a trip next fall in exchange for 7 days vs. 11 this time round, sounds like a good strategy! :thumbsup2
I think that is the way I am leaning. I hate that I make all of these changes but I guess it keeps this PTR interesting.

I don't know, but it seems like the last two months have FLOWN by. And now we are getting into the busy holiday season so time is going to go by even faster!

I think it's just glamorous that it's the same recipe!

I love the Country Bears
My nephew's favorite is the bear that comes out of the ceiling on her swing. No idea why, but he's fascinated with that bear :confused3

I hope you have a email from your TA in the morning. BTW, what travel agency are you using? I've been reading lots of things about Magical Vacations.

Hi LL!
I can't wait to hear all about your ADRS! Can't believe that you forgot today was the big day!!!

My vote is for the park and fly, too! I love that I did that this past trip. I highly recommend it.:thumbsup2

Just my opinion but I vote to shorten this trip and go again in the fall, cause 2 trips is more than 1! Then there still is that December option out there. Dec 14-20th for us at the Swan. So excited, cant wait to really get to start planning.

When I worked with a TA for the November trip, it was REALLY hard for me to wait on her to see if we would get them. I emailed her finally and just had to ask... You are doing so well with just letting it go!

The 2 trips certainly sounds appealing...! I look forward to your decision with that.

Ooohhh, two trips sounds much better than one!:goodvibes I'd like to do three or four trips in a year (you know one for each season.) :rolleyes1 But, alas, the budget won't allow it (stupid budget) :headache: :rotfl:

Oh.... I can't wait to hear what ADR's you got! popcorn:: You must be on pins and needles waiting to hear. Post right away....please!

That is a lot of Cobb Salad! Our waiter at BD was just gushing over the Cobb Salad last trip. I bet he has contributed to that 31,000.!

I am liking your idea of squeezing in a solo Fall trip! :rolleyes1 I am not trying to sway your decision or anything, but I hear you about the long trip and then another short trip. Sometimes its just not fiscally responsible! I am 95% sure I want to do a solo Fall trip. I will stay value and hopefully get free dining. I think the family unit can do without me for 4 or 5 days!

Hi Lady Lallie! :flower3:

I see you on Jackie and Anita's TRs and PTRs and so I wanted to come over and say hi! I have a slow day at work today so I plan on reading all 51 pages of your PTR so far. :thumbsup2

Have a great day!
Katie
