other that 5% off at Target, are there any other discounted offers on Disney gift cards? Does Target offer more that the 5% off Redcard ever?

I double up the 5% Redcard with the 5% pharmacy rewards at Target. It comes out to a 9.5% discount. Sometimes SAMs has them at a slight discount. But I haven't come up with anything better than the Target Redcard+pharmacy.

THIS! I do it for every trip. Depending on how long the trip is, sometimes I buy thousands of dollars worth of cards. Ends up saving me several hundred dollars and is worth the effort for us.

I've never heard of the pharmacy rewards at Target. Interesting.., but I have done 4x fuel points on gift cards bought at Target and used the points to pay rock bottom gas prices on our way down!

Not a huge thing but if you do Disney Movie Reward points, occasionally they offer GCs as a reward. Last time I think it was 1,000 points for a 10 reward. Since we still buy Disney movies, I go ahead and log the points and tend to hoard them for when they offer the GCs and then get as many as my points will allow.

Again - it's not a huge thing, but I figure it's basically a free GC for stuff I'm already buying anyway. :)

This particular strategy works if you have a sam's club membership, a disney visa, a free ebates account and a local walmart.

When Sam's is offering disney gift cards online at a 5% discount, go to walmart and use your disney visa to buy walmart gift cards. (2% rewards on your visa) Use these cards to go onto ebates to the sam's club site. (1.5% cash back on ebates shopping at Sam's) and buy the disney gift cards using the walmart gift cards. 2% + 5% + 1.5% = 8.5% discounted gift cards. :goodvibes

BJ's Wholesale Club has $100 Disney gift cards for $94.99. They have other denominations that I believe carry the same % discount.

Can you use the gift cards at the food stands and counter service restaurants?

My Sam's currently has $150 (3x$50) for $142.93. I plan to use my Mastercard with 2% cash back grocery to buy a bunch of these for my trip. That's about $9.93 savings for every $150 bought. Adds up. I don't do the Target thing.

I'm also hording Disney Movie Rewards points and am waiting for the next round of gift cards.

Sounds like they usually only do this once per year.

Seriously? You get the Redcard discount on Disney gift cards there? Do I understand that correctly?

You can use the gift cards at snack stands and restaurants in all the parks and even at the resorts.

$10 off $100 Disney GC starts this Thursday (lasts for two weeks) at Giant Eagle grocery store

Yes, that is correct! For our trip last year, I used our Redcard and a pharmacy reward card and bought 120 $50 Disney gift cards. That saved me $600!! The week I bought 22 gift cards for our trip next month and saved $110! It's a great deal! :cool1:

Wish I was sick so I could get prescriptions at Target lol. Alas I am too healthy and don't even need a pain medication for break a bone or something. haha

We do the redcard thing as well. Our daughter is now 10, and is a small eater, so we are not doing the meal plan in June. Instead we are purchasing the cost of the meal plan on disney gift cards (that we bought with our redcard). This way, our meals are prepaid, like dining, but if we don't use the entire amount, the gift cards can still be used for souvenirs, etc. I know people say that VISA gift cards are better because if you don't use them all at Disney, you can use them elsewhere. However, with the 5% discount AND the fact that I know that we will definitely use the cards at Disney, this is a win win for us. Oh, and we also have Tables in Wonderland, so hopefully that will be an additional win!

Well I'm impressed. Nicely done. I'll be copying THAT idea. Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for pharmacy rewards because I have TriCare insurance (military) and no perks are allowed on "government health programs." They lump military medical insurance in with Medicaid even though I pay premiums, deductibles and co-pays. But hey, that's a whole different forum!

I understand the pharmacy rewards are not available in NJ either, but I am not sure why.
