Disney Gift Cards

Hi! We are going to WDW in the fall and I've been picking up the $50 Disney gift cards when I see them at Target. A thought just occurred to me - can I use these gift cards at the restaurants in WDW? Or just as payment for my resort?

We purchased GC 's from Giant Eagle at home in 500.00 lots and 25.00 lots.... We did it for the fuel perks and used them in WDW to pay for room, food, souvenirs .... Gladly accepted...

Returning home it gave us 30 gallons of gas for .44 per gallon... Good deal plus we paid for them with our Discover Card and got cash back money too...

The Disney gift card app is a great tool, I used it in May.

The GCs will be accepted at most places - resort, restaurants, stores - but there are some places that won't so it's best to have some cash and an alternate form of payment just in case.

Cash only, for example, include balloon vendors, some souvenir vendors walking along parade routes and refreshment vendors in some of the longer queue lines and on the Boardwalk.

Some third party locations also do not accept Disney GCs, such as the restaurants and shops (except the Disney gift shop) in the Swan and Dolphin and Shades of Green.

I bought several Disney gift cards from Kroger when gift cards had 4x the fuel points. I charged our purchases back to the resort on my key to the world card so I didn't have to carry the gift cards around and risk losing them. I then paid for my room charges with the gift card instead of having them charged to my credit card on file. You must pay for all of the charges PRIOR to check out or else they will be charged to your credit card on file. It worked perfect!
