Disney gift cards!!

I know that Disney gift cards can be used to pay part of your balance, but I was wondering if there is anyone that has done this? I was wondering if it was easy or did it become a hassle? My boyfriend and I are planning to buy each other gift cards for Easter to lesson the cost of the trip! I would much rather have the money towards the trip then pointless candy! Let me know you feedback on the idea! thanks!

We were going to do this too, but have decided to go with Visa Gift cards so I could pay that way. AAA did say it could be done without an issue, but I figure if I throw more on it then I will need to pay off the balance I can use it to pay for Gas and souvies oh and Drinks most important and If I still have money on it when I get home I can use it.

The only thing about the visa cards is there is an activation fee. So in a way you are putting out more money! I called WDW and they told me you can use the gift cards to pay your balance. I was just wondering if anyone has done it or if there was a hassle.

We made some changes to our upcoming trip (added days to tickets and another night to our hotel rooms) and I used a gift card I purchased from the school (SCRIP program) to pay off the balance.

I didn't even need to give them the PIN just the card number, super easy.

Make sure you keep the card though, I have heard that they will refund it to the same card if you cancel.

i have paid $100 per week on our $4000+ trip for this coming September and have paid off almost $3000 (also used Scrip purchased Disney card from school). It is extremely easy to do if you have your reservation through WDW, you can just log into your account and it gives you the option to partial pay, pick GC and enter the amount on the card or you want to pay and card number and then within 24 hours they send you confirmation. You can also call and do it over the phone. 10 more weeks and we are paid off.

I don't believe I've made a payment with a gift card, yet. My husband is always asking can this be done. I know it can. I have used gift cards at counter service locations to pay for food. And at shops for merchandise. Check out www.disneygiftcard.com. I too, have heard keep the gift card when using it to make a payment.

The Easter bunny will be bring Disney gift cards in his baskets this year, and I'll be giving them as b'day gifts. We are hoping to to have enough cards to enable everyone in our party to upgrade to a 7 day park-hoppers
