Disney Gift Cards?

DH and I recently asked my mother and her fiance to come to WDW with us in October 2010. We are DVC owners so we will be booking a villa big enough for all of us so they wont have to pay for a room but they are worried they wont be able to save enough money.

I was thinking of kind of helping them out without really giving them "money" by buying them Disney gift cards for their birthdays, christmas, valentines day, easter... you get the idea. My mother's birthday is next week and I want to give her a gift card but I am worried because I know some gift cards expire after a year.

Does anybody know the terms on Disney Gift Cards? or can you help be figure out a better way to go about this?

Q: Does my Disney Gift Card expire?
A: No, the Disney Gift Card you purchased or received is valid for purchases until all remaining funds have been depleted from the card.

disney dollars are also cute.. perhaps get a gift card and a maybe like 5 $1 disney dollars? They will be fun to have in the card and are so cute to look at.

My group of friends gave me a $400 gift card for my 40th b-day along with $50 disney dollars. It was so much fun to have the disney dollars in hand. In fact I spent most of the card already but am still saving the dollars for my september trip!

You can add money to the gift card instead of buying new ones too. That way she only has one card to keep up with.

Before you leave make sure she makes a copy of the back of the card. If the card is lost or stolen she can report it and get a replacement. But you must keep the original purchase receipt and have a copy of the back of the card.

We used one for our Honeymoon and felt so much better than carrying around cash or even Traveler's Checks.

I did not for my sister last christmas, myself, my husband, my sister, and her husband was all going to disney in january and my sister has everything. So i bought her a 100.00 dollar gift card for disney and she loved it !!!!
