Disney Gift Cards

Just wondering how many other DVC members took advantage of the recent offer to refer a friend to take the DVC Open House Tour by phone (or in person) and receive a $50 Disney Gift Card (up to 4) in exchange for the referral.

I received a total of $200 in gift cards that I plan to use on my next trip in December.

I thought it was a great way to spread the word about DVC and not having to worry about my friends being highly pressured by the Disney reps--just to tour by phone.

I wasn't able to take advantage, since ours is one of the states that does not allow us to get teh bonus. I don't believe we even recieved the post cards.

I gave them to two people, my parents and my SIL. Parents don't need to buy (they go on our points), but I thought they would do the phone tour so we could reap the rewards. Nope. SIL is probably going to buy, but hasn't done any tour yet, only knows what I have told her, so thought this would be a great intro for her. Nope.

I guess I asked the wrong people to take the tour

My sister inlaw had a friend who i booked on my contract to stay at one of the resorts buy a package from disney. I got called from my guide and was told i would get disney dollars and my sister inlaw would also because her friend gave her name as a referral. My sister inlaw is also a dvc member with the same guide.

I don't believe that this promotion is considered the "bonus" that you get when a referral actually "buys" into DVC. On this promo, the referral only had to call and take a phone tour or take the tour in person...they did not have to purchase in order for you to get a $50 Disney Gift Card, up to 4 persons for a total of $200 in gift cards.

Does anyone remember when this expired. I threw the postcard away awhile ago. I haven't gotten any gift cards, but I have referred folks (just not sure if/when they did the tour).

DH did. He had his sister & brother, my sister, our son & daughter all take the tour. I think we actually had one more than what we needed. We ended up with $200 in gift cards.

As far as I remember, the deadline for friends calling for a tour was October 20. However, they had until November 18 to actually take the tour.

On a couple of occasions, my friends were given the phone tour (about 10 minutes) when they called and spoke to my guide. On the other two occasions, their phone information was taken and my guide called them later for the phone tour.

They received the DVD from DVC and I received a note thanking me for the referral; a few days later I received a Fed Ex package with the $50 gift card for each one.

I referered 4 people to call DVC for this promotion, and each took a phone tour. In turn I also received 4, $50 Gift Cards, and at least one of my referals is buying! Looks like a good investment for Disney.........and me!

Wow.... I mentioned on 10/30 that I had referred folks but never received any gift cards... well, I had to go sign for a FedEx package yesterday and low and behold... it was a gift card from DVC for referring folks that did the tour... Maybe I'll get a few more (will definately help with the upcoming trip expenses!) ... 3 more and dinner at V&A will almost be covered !
