Disney gift cards - what can you use them for?

My grocery store (Giant Eagle) sells Disney gift cards. Because we have a thing called Fuelperks, we get some of that money back in free gas if we buy stuff in the grocery store. Also, we have a thing called Foodperks, meaning that we get some of the money back in a percentage off of the grocery bill for each gallon we buy from their gas store (GetGo). If you didn't follow that, never mind - just know it pays us back to use gift cards instead of cash. :thumbsup2

Anyway, Disney gift cards -- can they be used to buy park tickets, and can they pay for Disney hotels? (The cards say Disney World, Disney Land, etc... In other words, definitely not just the Disney store.) Does anyone know for sure? :confused3

Thanks! :3dglasses

They can be used for nearly anything and everything at WDW and DL as well as Disney Cruise Line -- park admission, lodging, food, souvies...the GCs are accepted at any Disney venue that can accept credit/debit cards.

Aside from that, you can also use them for purchases from Disney websites and retail stores.

Can I use gift card at the official wdw site? Will I have to pay shipping for buying tickets now?

Thanks!

We paid for our entire upcoming trip using Disney Gift cards from Giant Eagle. I bought them all when they were doing double fuel perks a couple months ago. All of my payments were made on the wdw website (very easy). I'm not sure about shipping on tickets because we do a package but I do know there is a will-call option to pick them up at the parks. I loved all the free tanks of gas that we earned!

I plan on paying for our entire trip with these gift cards next year, cause of the fuel perks! All that free gas.... So worth it. I love Giant Eagle just for this!!!!!:dance3:

Starting next week I am going to be buying a $50 GC every week until our trip. This will be our spending money. Any of the GC we don't use, I will use to book our next trip, or I will take on my Girl's weekend trip in February. Once I learned I could use them for resort costs, I decided I would be stocking up! This forces me to "save" the money, and I can't spend it anywhere else! I know this seems silly to some people, but not me.

Also, I have the Disney Visa debit card, so I transfer money to it, and buy stuff with it, and pay for our trip using that card. I don't have a Chase bank within 100 miles, so I haven't yet started using it for everyday purchases. I will once I "learn" the bank a little more.

You know that if it's a Disney gift card that you can just add money to it, right? You don't need to buy separate gift cards.

I bought the girls gift cards and any money they earn or get for birthdays go on the cards for their spending money.

We are moving to Michigan in two weeks & Kroger will be my new grocery store. Do they do the gas or grocery bonuses when you buy gift cards? Or is that something that the stores run occasionaly as specials? I've never seen incentives like that in Stop & Shop here in CT.

Most Kroger stores are now in the gas business -- however, from my experience, Kroger does not tie their weekly specials into gas purchases.

Instead, Kroger makes use of their "Kroger Plus" shopper's card (which gets you discounts on gas and specific merchandise) -- a few months ago, they were discounting 3-packs of Disney Gift Cards.

Hope this helps...

So if I get a Disney gift card can I keep loading money on to it to save for tickets and lodging? If you can, do you call the number on the back of the card and do it or do you have to go to the Disney store or online?

Thanks, it does!

I believe you call the number on the back of the card. I'm collecting $50 Disney cards from my credit union debit card rewards. Already have the deposit for out trip for next year. Now just have to choose the dates:woohoo:

Hopefully, Michigan will include the Disney GC in their promotions... in Texas, they tend to not include them with specials such as the recent "buy $100 in GC and get $x back". :sad2:

I also have the Disney Visa debit card and used it to pay for our Disney GCs at Giant Eagle. Every little bit adds up!!

Yep! I go to the Disney Store to do it. I don't know the answer to calling the number or getting it online.

Reloading #: 800-362-4533 (DL Merch). The number on the back of the card does not handle reloads.

Also, for SpaceAge, you can't use the GC for WDW tix online, but can use it for tix at the booths when you get there.
