Disney gift cards to pay for dining?????

Doing a big family vacation, my inlaws requested a few restaurants plus I had a few must do character meals...Anyway, with all the ressies I made I am 5 TS over my DDP allowance. I was wondering instead of paying out of pocket for them...we have ALOT of Disney Giftcards and Disney Dollars that we are saving for our trip......can they be used to pay for dining?

Yes. But instead of handing them to the waiters, charge your meals to your room. Then settle everything with your cards and Disney Dollars at your resort desk.

They may or may not take your cards at the restaurants. Regardless, this will save some time.

I also have some Disney gift cards and that's a good idea to just charge everything to your room instead of bringing the cards to restaurants. Is it possible to give the resort cm your gift cards at check-in to pre-pay for the meals you will charge to your room? TIA!

There are only 2 or 3 restaurants on Disney property that don't take the gift cards. The only ones that don't take the cards are McDonalds at DTD, Rainforest Cafe (both DTD and AK), and Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. So, you should be fine to use gift cards to pay for your meals.

Technically it is possible for you to have a positive balance in their system. With the error rate I have experieced with food payment (especially having both the dining plan and charge capabilities) I would suggest letting them show you the bill rather than potentially having to get money back after the fact.
