Disney gift cards through ShopDiscover.com

Ok.......hopefully someone can follow this and help us. Discover card has a link through its Shop Discover Card for 5% cash back on purchases at Target.com. Discover card also has a 5% cash back on internet purchases through the end of December. Has anyone purchased Disney gift cards and received the 5% cash back for using the link and an additional 5% for the current Discover card promotion for using the card for online purchase? We are hoping to hear "yes" from someone out there.

You need to double check the exclusions. Although the stores flag Disney GC as merchandise, target.com does not. So your Discover CB could be denied if they are excluded.

Also, note that the 5% special CB on internet purchase does have a limit - I believe is $1500.

Looks like you should be able to earn 5% plus 5%.

Correct.....we can only purchase $1,500 worth, but that would still earn us $146.25 cash back if it works ($75.00 of the initial $1,500.00....then $71.25 of the discounted purchase).

We read the same statement. Was hope someone had already done it. We are going to give it a try.

I'm in! Every year I think about canceling the Discover card, and something like this comes up... My problem is using the CB later for something else...

I use my cash back for Starbucks Gift cards/movie or other gift cards for Christmas stocking stuffers!!! Almost like found money!!!

Yes you do need to sign up for that. Log in to your online account and should be about the middle on the right side.

Since this is good until the end of the year, I'm thinking on waiting a bit to see if Target will come up with their coupons again. Cause that was approx 20%-25% instead of this potential 10%. Cruise and WDW is paid for at this time so all of that would be savings towards next year's crazy xmas on the Fantasy cruise...

AFAIK, it was on December for the last two years. I know they did it again last year cause it worked on 2011.

Note that in 2011 you could actually buy Target GCs. They did put a restriction last year on this and Visa/MC cards, but Disney GCs and others were still considered merchandise and hence it worked perfectly.

We do that, too, MJ, except we get them to do our Black Friday shopping. I don't think I've spent an actual dime at Bath & Body Works on Black Friday in 4 years! We were on the site last night ordering cards that we intend to use for this (Gap, BBW, Bed Bath & Beyond).
