Disney Gift Cards in restaurants

Hey! I am sorry if this has been asked before but I searched and I couldnt find it. Can you use Disney gift cards in restaurants? I figured they would take them in any restaurant that took the dining plan but am I wrong? I already have $350 in gift cards. I dont want to buy more if this isnt true.

YES!!! You can in most. However, they are some that are not operated by Disney and you cannot use a gift card at those.

Basic rule of thumb: any on-Disney-property restaurant that takes credit cards also takes the Disney gift cards. Really about the only place you can't use them on property is at a few stands/carts where they don't have credit card machines.

That I am not sure about. I would think if they don't take the DDP they may not take the gc.

I know some of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants don't as well as some of the DTD ones. I wouldn't put all your money on gc's just in case something like that happens.

There are quite a few table-service restaurants on Disney property that aren't operated by Disney (including most of the restaurants in Epcot's World Showcase), but as far as I know, they all take the Disney gift cards anyway. Is there a specific one that doesn't, that you know of?

Whispering Canyon is owned by Disney, so that one is no problem. Not 100% sure about Earl of Sandwich. Most (possibly all) of the Downtown Disney table-service restaurants will take the gift cards, though.

I was thinking specifically of Shula's, as I was going to make an ADR there but I had all my $$ in gc, and they don't accept Disney gc. That made me sad because I really wanted to eat there.

Yep, that is what I found too!! I wanted go to bluezoo and Shula's and wasn't able to. Maybe next time.

Well, if I go by the Disney plan=Gift cards, then Earl of Sandwich is good. That is how we discovered it. In Jan we went and had the meal plan and fell in LOVE with Earl of Sandwich. I may call them though just to make sure

Great question - we're doing Le Cellier for the Candlelight Processional, and wondering if we can use Disney gift cards there?
