Disney gift cards and AP purchase

Hello I have a question. When purchasing an Signature AP on the payment plan as I live in CA can you pay the down payment and the first month's installment with Disney gift cards? Has anyone done this before? Just trying to figure out what my options are when I purchase my AP next week. TIA for any and all info.

Yes, but when we did it they said they could only process one gift card, so we had to combine them all first. I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Thanks! I am planning to combine a few of them before heading to the parks so this should be fine for me.

When I did it last October, i wa told i could only use gift cards for the down payment while there, the payments could not be. Which wasn't a problem since I had $200 in gift cards and dowm was $400

Ok I was thinking that may be the case as they probably want a credit card for the monthly payment.

Yeah, and it needs to be a SoCal credit card. My sister had to put her boyfriend's pass on her card because his CC was still registered to his parents house in Utah. They were also not able to change the CC after the fact (but that could have been their issue, not a general DLR one).

I think you have to call the number on the paperwork/contract. I was told I had to call that number if I wanted to pay off my balance early. I think it may be some other clearing house company that handles the contracts for them.

I actually live in CA and have done the monthly plan option before so, my card will be fine. You don't have to live in SoCal just somewhere in CA. I live in northern CA.
