I've booked the current hotel + tickets package with Disney ( :) ) and it includes the $200 gift card. I've no idea what this really means. Will it be uploaded onto the bands or is it an actual card? Is it linked to our length of stay? Does it expire at midnight of the last day like the meal plan does? Can I spend it on absolutely anything, anywhere, or will it only be valid in the shops?

I'm really looking forward to spending it, so all info would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou!

It will be an actual gift card. If you've booked through Disney UK then you will collect at DTD.

The card can be spent in any owned Disney store or restaurant. It can also be applied to your room account to pay off spending on your MB.

It's not linked to length of stay and doesn't expire if not used as its a standard Disney gift card.

Thankyou Elise. Brilliant! That was exactly what I was hoping to hear.

We fly to the U.S. 11 days from now, l booked through Disney UK, last week l received our travel documents which included a voucher for our $100 Giftcard (l should have booked earlier last year & l would have got $200). To get your Giftcard it says on the voucher you take it to the Information Desk at the World of Disney Store at DTD along with photo ID.

Yep - it's a regular gift card - I used ours to pay for our Crystal Palace meal on our last day - which was 9 days after checking out of our onsite hotel. so its just like any gift card you would get.

I booked though virgin - so it was with my documents at the alamo garage - there's a little booth there with virgin staff in - I mistakenly queued up at the virgin booth just inside the airport opposite the garage first, only to be told to go straight to the garage for all my 'stuff'. I had pre-filled all the car hire details with alamo before which meant it was super easy. literally just pick up the car and have your CC swiped.

I was glad it wasn't at DTD as we didn't go there until near the end of the holiday to go to T Rex.

Thanks for the replies! I've booked 10 nights at CBR directly with Disney and have the free dining as well. We're going to swap to Universal Studios for a couple of days, then come back to Disney for my DH's 50th. So no free dining for that. I thought never mind, I'll use the gift card to pay for the meals - then started to wonder if I could! I'm so pleased that I can.

We pick our gift up from the World of Disney store's info desk (it's in the Villains section of the store) mid-trip.
We charge food and merch to the room/magicband for the majority of our stay, and then use the gift card to pay that bill at checkout.

I was just thinking about the replies and my brain went, "Hang on a minute, was that ELEVEN days?" And it was! I hope you have an absolutely amazing time

Peajay and Jon, I like both those plans. I've put em in my book, thanks.

Thanks. Yep ELEVEN days, sooooo looking forward to this trip, especially after a difficult few months with our house being repaired after bad storm damage in January, it's taken ages.
2 more days until SDD time! :cool1:
