Disney Gift Card

Not sure where to post this, but it's budget related so...

I just booked a week at CSR and got the $500 Disney Gift Card deal. Am I correct in assuming that I can use the gift card anywhere in Disney while we're there?? To buy souvieners or eat in the parks, at Disney stores in DTD, eating at CSR or another resort, etc...

Yes you are right and it can be used to pay toward the dining plan if you are getting one.

I'll be using mine to upgrade 2 basic tickets to park hoppers, paying to upgrade my ticket to 10 day non expire (since I'm planning a solo trip in early Dec.) and using any remaining money for food at CS places.

I love it when a plan comes together!

I also have booked a reservation at CSR and received the $500 GC... PP said we can also use it towards the purchase of the meal plan... How would this work? Would I just add the meal plan at check-in, or does it have to be done ahead of time? Thank you so much for any advice!!

I'm just so happy to have gotten any kind of deal! Most of our stay is during the April black out period & when I saw the gift card deal I figured that would be blacked out too. Turns out our arrival date was the last arrival date that qualified for the GC!!! I called & figured that they'd somehow tell me no, but the CM checked it out & said I qualified! I'm VERY happy about this. We were going anyway so it's like finding $500!

We probably won't do the dining plan - too much food/time for how we do the parks, but $500 will pay for a lot of food & souvineers!

The meal plan has to be added at least 24 hours before check in.....There are three available plans now.
