I know I've seen this question but can't seem to find it: can you use Disney Gift Cards bought off the website or in a Disney store to buy food, drinks, souvenirs, etc. at WDW? I know you cannot use disneyshopping.com cards as payment. We are thinking of giving Disney Gift Cards to our kids and letting them budget for themselves for the week.

Yes you can use them at the Disney parks. I am doing this for my kids for our Disney trip in November. I just went to my local Disney store, the kids earn there funds by doing jobs around the house. The one thing I hate is in order to add money onto the card, you have to go to the Disney store, I hate you cannot do it online. Happy planning! :wave2:

Thanks! We are going to surprise my teens with them. It's a good budgeting lesson and takes away the question of whetehr to allow charging privileges or not. We are also going to divide the money up into smaller cards in case anyone loses one.

We are going to WDW in December and put money on a gift card every week. We save all our spare change and cash it in once a month...that money goes on the gift card as well.
Have a blast on your trip!!
I'm sure your teens will LOVE having the cards.

We have over $600 in Disney Gift cards for our upcoming trip. We've been getting them for every conceivable occasion since we booked it last summer.

It, along with the big jar of coins in our bedroom, should more than cover souvineers, and maybe more.
