We just returned from a short visit to WDW (May 1-3).
One of my goals this year is to pre-pay as much as possible before we go. In keeping with this theme, we brought with us a Disney Gift Card. (DH had given it to me as a present-even better!
) Disney Gift Card info link
We charged our food and gifts to our room card and then on check out, I used the gift card to pay for our charges. This process seemed to go smoother this time than back in December when the CM had to look up the codes.
There was money left on the card, so we used it to buy some more gifts at the Screen Door at the Boardwalk and our breakfast at The Land on our last day. It was really easy to use at the stores. The CM just ran the card through and then presented me with a receipt which showed how much was left on the card. (No change to mess around with
)
We used an airline gift card for our airline tickets, DVC points for our room, vouchers for our APes (purchased before the price went up last year) and 1 rental day free coupon on our rental car. We ended up with about $157.00 (car rental, gas, parking at our home airport and a few more gifts/lunch on our last day) on the CC from this visit.
I really liked using the Disney Gift card and I think this will be a really good option for us to save ahead for future trips.
