Disney gift card question

Hey everyone, I am new and about to have my third trip to Disney- 9 days away I cant wait!! I have a couple questions about using disney gift cards. We are staying at the All-Star Movies hotel and got a ton of gift cards for christmas, so I was wondering if you can use a disney gift card to pay for the in-room pizza delivery? Also, can you pay for tips at restaurants (garden grill, crystal palace, sci-fi drive in, liberty tree tavern) using it also? Thanks for your help!

I'd like to know about the tips too. That's all we carry cash around the parks for since we have the DDP.

I always use a GC to pay for tips while I'm on the dining plan. That way I don't have to deal with cash! I loaded a special one for my next trip (In a week, yay!) with Mickey, Minnie, and a birthday cake to use specifically for tips.

I also use GCs to pay for small items to avoid getting weighed down by change in my purse. They work everywhere except maybe at the stand alone kiosks like popcorn. (and that may have changed by now.)

Not sure about pizza delivery, unless you order it at the foodcourt and have it sent to your room.

You can use Disney gift cards at any vendor run by Disney. If you order pizza through room service you should be able to use your Disney gift cards.

Yes you can use it for tips and at snack carts that accept credit cards.

We have the disney rewards card, from our disney visa - its basically a gift card and we've used it everywhere, at T-Rex and the lego store in downtown disney, and we put all the tips on it, no problem. I don't know about the pizza.

. . . includes non-Disney hotels and vendors WITHIN/ON WDW PROPERTY
3) The rewards card is a benefit and not honored at all places.
. . . not honored at all WDW non-Disney vendors and resorts
. . . Examples: not honored at AMC, Swan/Dolphin, many non-Disney eateries

We used gift cards last year to pay for food.I believe there is an 800# on the back to call to check the balance.When I was in doubt I would tell the cashier how I would be paying if the card didn't cover the full amount.
The only place there was any issues was Ghiradelli's.They take the gift card but it took forever for it to go thru

You can also attach your credit card to your Key to the World card (room key) and use that to pay tips, gifts, etc. The night before you leave just go to the front desk and pay off what you charged using the gift cards. Very easy, and if you charged more than you have gift cards for you can either leave it to go on your credit card or you can pay it in cash the night before check out. I imagine that Disney pizza delivery can also be charged to the room and then paid for with your gift cards if you do not want to set up room charging.

The booklet that came with my Disney Visa Redemption Card in 2009 does not list T-Rex or the Lego store as a location that accepts the card...maybe the list has been updated since then.

If someone is hoping to use it at T-Rex, I would call and double check first. It would really stink to find out that they don't accept it at the end of your meal!

I used mine to pay for our meal at T Rex in June 09...I asked first. Things may have changed, so it is a good idea to find out for sure!

We did this for the first time on our trip last month and it worked out great . I had read alot of posts of people using a gc to pay for tips, but I was kind of leary about it would work . We always use the DDP, so for our first meal I asked our waitress if it was possible to use our room key for the DDP and the gc for the tip and she right away said no problem, and it worked fine . It worked so good I will now always take giftcards to pay for tips and any other misc. things we buy .

Anytime we used a gc, the balance left was on the bottom of our receipt, so I didn't have to keep track of it .
