Disney Gift Card ever offered before?

Anyone know if Disney has ever offered a gift card before, and it yes, what "strings" were attached? Was it limited to specific items or services, or was it same as cash? Thanks.

Yes, a Disney Gift Card was offered to Annual Passholders during one period last year. The cards are generally good anyplace at WDW that would normally take credit/debit cards (restaurants, hotels, shops). About the only place you can't use them is a few of the snack carts in the theme parks, because they are not set up for taking anything but cash.
