The 5% Red Card discount only applies to purchases paid for WITH the red card. It won't discount anything paid for with a gift card. For example, if you buy a $50 disney gift card and pay $25 with a gift card and $25 with a red card, the 5% discount will only be on $25.

I figured, only makes sense. A lot of chatter on here about paying with Target GC, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

You'll want to contact them through the Customer Support link. Submit a request for "Account Questions". If you get an auto-response back, makes sure to respond to it. They have a lot of request types that close it after a autoresponse and you have to respond to reactivate it and put it into the queue. Don't know if Account Questions is one of them but probably can't hurt. It takes a while for the compliance team to answer so it may be a week or more, keep checking back.
It's possible to be reactivated but it seems almost like a dart throw why some get it back and others don't. Sorry that happened to you.

Has anyone had trouble with BJ's not activating Disney gift cards? We ordered from there before a year or so back, but stopped after the first time because the cards weren't activated and it was a big hassle. Now with Target not working, I was going to go back to BJ's so I could put it on a CC and get points back. Any experience lately with this issue?

I also had an issue with BJs activating, and then deactivating $1500 in Disney gift cards before sending them to me. That was on top of a bunch of other issues related to poor customer service in resolving the matter, so my position remains Never Again.

Kroger is back to running 4X fuel points on GCs, and there is a coupon for 4X on Visa or MC GCs as well.

We drive a Prius so we don't use a ton of gasoline but we also have a farm and buy gas for mowing so... I'm trying to weight if this is a good deal for us and how much I'd need to spend to save decent money.

LinaNate - It works like this. Buy $100 gift card with CC of choice. Discover gives 5% back on groceries right now. So you are paying $95. During this deal you are earning $.40 off per gallon. Say you buy 10 gallons you save another $4. In effect you are saving 9% on your Disney gift cards.

You can stack your fuel rewards to save up to $1 per gallon! They do expire at some point though.

I have a credit card that gives virtually unlimited 5% on groceries and gas, so if I buy a GC for Disney or Amazon (I usually just go for $500 at a time to make it easy on me) it gets me as good a discount as I could get anywhere else without any effort. But even without that, the $500 gift card is 200 fuel points. Every 100 fuel points is $.10 off per gallon at a gas station fill up (and you could fill your car and gas can at the same time under one discount). Max discount per fill up is $1 off per gallon. So one $500 gift card gets you 2X $1 off on gas. There's a 35 or 50 gallon max, but I generally wait til I'm almost empty and get $25 off per tank of gas.

Discount expires at the end of the next month.

$100 gift card during the 4x promo = 400 fuel points = 40 cents off per gallon
The max you can get is 35 gallons (we take fuel cans for the excess), so 40 cents x 35 = $14 gas savings (14%)
I use my Blue Cash Preferred for 6% back at grocery stores, so thats another $6 (I go in store and purchase a Kroger gift card to use at the pump)
I reduce the savings a bit since Kroger is not the cheapest gas in my area (the Sam's next door is often 10 cents less)
For me, I count it as an 18% discount.
Points expire at the end of the next month, and they don't combine points month to month, so you have to be careful and not end up with excess points.
Also note that you can do 1 survey (check your receipt) each week for 50 fuel points. That usually adds 200 fuel points/month for me.

Lately, I've been purchasing a Best Buy gift card at Kroger to covert to Disney using the Swagbucks deal, adding another 12% savings.

So total 30%!

Does anyone know if the 5% savings on lowes credit card will apply to Disney gift cards? They are having a couple of days where it is 10% off. Says it doesn't apply to gift cards, but we all know that can sometimes mean just their own and not "entertainment" or 3rd party.

Anyone ever gotten the 5% discount on Disney gift cards at lowes with the lowes credit card?

I don't know about the 10%, but I got 5% with my Lowes card on 4/15/2018.

I think so. If your using a freedom for 5xur, that’s at a minimum $75 back. If you max it out with $1500 this quarter, you can get 1800sb and turn that into 180 dollars in gift cards if you redeem at 5000sb for $50. If you do some at 2200sb, you get more. That’s at a minimum $1755 worth of gift cards for $1500. Or 15% off. Plus you can get more sb on the gift cards you cash out.

Ouch. The rhyme and reason for closing SB accts has not been figured out. Maybe it was too much, too soon on a new account? Swagbucks is not known for reinstating accounts, especially since upon review of your transaction history it will be very obvious you were receiving bonuses you should not have been receiving (gift cards are technically excluded).

I'm sorry this happened to you but thanks for sharing, it's a good reminder to not leave SBs sitting in our accounts. SB shutdowns DO happen. I thought about hoarding SBs and slowly cashing them out 1 month at a time as gift cards go on sale but I'm just too concerned I'll be shut down for all my BB shenanigans so I cashed out for 1 gift card a month and then as I get up to $25 I just take a PayPal redemption (just did that today actually).

Is @SUSIEQ is the first SB shutdown report we have since the BB stuff started?

Depends on how much you're getting off your Target gift cards. But, it's very hard to beat the 10% bonus with Swagbucks plus Best Buy Rewards plus Credit Card rewards imho.

Does the Target.com website trick that allowed you to pretend you were using a RedCard, then allowed you to switch to another payment method no longer work?

I remember I used to do this back in the day when using Target Cards to pay for Disney Giftcards.

If this works you can get 10% off using 5% from the Red Card as well as the Chase Freedom 5% for paypal.

Yes and if you do it online, you can get electonic Disney Gift cards which means no scraping off and reading small numbers.

I was you a few weeks ago Go to Swagbucks and search Best Buy, scroll down they have an add for extra swagbucks if you scan the QR code. Generate a code and print it off or save it to your phone. Go to Best Buy, get a $50 Disney gift card. Give cashier your best buy rewards phone number, cashier scans disney gift card purchase, then show them your swagbucks code and they scan that, then you pay with credit card of your choice. Chase Freedom is offering 5% back for Chase Pay this quarter and BB accepts Chase Pay. In 2-5 business days you'll receive 500 swagbucks (worth $5), 30 days after purchase you'll get another 100 swagbucks ($1). When I combine my credit rewards (I don't have a Chase Freedom) plus best buy rewards plus swagbucks I'm getting about 16% off my Disney. The swagbucks stuff says gift cards don't qualify in the fine print, but no one has had issues as long as they scan the sb code after the item is scanned and make sure they generate a new SB code for each $50 purchase.

"Target back and running" just means you can buy disney gift cards with target gift cards. The RedCard 5% off Disney GC never stopped in store.
