Disney Gift Card Deals

Can anyone tell me how ebates works when you have bid on an eBay item and won? Do I go through ebates and pay for my item? Or did I have to go through ebates when I first bid on an item?
Here's what ebates says, but it doesn't explain why Lain didn't get credit: "
"Special Terms: Cash Back is only paid on legitimate Winning Bid or "Buy It Now" transactions. Cash Back will not be earned on unpaid items with eBay. A maximum of $50 Cash Back may be earned on any single purchase."

I did see that, but I just wasn't clear about whether you had to *place* the winning bid via ebates or just pay for it via ebates. I'll see what happens as I just paid through ebates.

Aside from places at the Swan and Dolphin, are there any other establishments that have gift cards that I could put some of my funds towards? I'm preferably looking at in the parks or Disney Springs. No sense in paying for my Starbucks with a Disney Gift Card where the final discount was 5%, when I can get a cheaper Starbucks card off of eBay.

I'm aware of Starbucks and Landry's for Yak and Yeti QS. Any other suggestions?
This page has a list of all the venues at Disney Springs: https://www.disneysprings.com/venues/
Most of these places have gift cards, but I am not sure of any besides the Landry's restaurants (Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex) and the AMC theaters that will be easy to find on/in Ebay, Best Buy, Sears/Kmart, grocery stores, Cardpool or Raise.

I was bidding on a Disney gc the other day. I opened an ebates eBay link and put in my winning bid in the last ten seconds. After winning I went to pay right away. That was Wednesday. I got the credit yesterday, Friday. I think if you open a link to go in to pay or check to see if you got it, then paid, that you would get the credit.

I did place the bid thru ebates and paid but I think the main thing is paying thru ebates once you are notified you won. I did mine all in one sitting. But now that I'm thinking of it, a couple weeks ago I put my bid in on Friday. Was notified I won Sunday night via my email. I opened ebates then my eBay link and went to the message notifying me I had won. I clicked thru there to pay and it was credited by ebates a couple days later.

I can confirm that ebates will pay when you go through them to pay whether or not you went through ebates when you bid. Apparently, all they care about it the actual financial transaction.

That's what I figured, but I didn't get Ebates credit so I don't know what went wrong. Anyway, the item arrived broken and we had to cancel the transaction so it was a wash.

If you don't get paid by ebates, you can use their help function to get paid. On their Help page, you click on Where's My Cash Back? on their list of Top 5 Questions. A form will pop up, and you need to identify which shopping trip you think was used when you paid for your transaction, and paste a copy of the email the vendor sent you when you made your purchase/paid for your win.

I'm not supposed to get cash back on purchases paid for with gift cards. ;-)

In more good news, I just converted $250 at GameStop back to eBay. The cashier saw it was a GC and had no problem and the POS had no problem. So that hasn't closed in Southern NJ yet.

I'm in Northern NJ and just converted some today too. I'm waiting for a couple more ebay orders of Gamestop cards to deliver, so hoping it's still working when I get them!

I wanted to keep some money in my churning fund to go towards Christmas and/or new appliances, but I decided to cash out while my main store for churning, GS, was still working. Here is how I made out for our family of 5 going for 9 nights at Caribbean Beach with free dining:

RT air for 5 from MSP on SW 100% free from cc rewards
Mini van rental for 10 days 100% free from cc rewards
$4200 stay at CB plus $1800 spending money ($6000 total) covered through cc rewards and churning, only paid $1800 oop.

Not bad considering I've only been doing this since February! Also, $1800 is way more than we need for spending money, especially since we're on the dining plan, bug since it's all in Disney GC, the remaining amount will go towards our next trip.

I plan on keeping up with this thread, and if GS continues to be a churning option in my area, or PPDG becomes less of a risk, I will start again, but for now I'm extremely pleased with what I've been able to do! Good luck to everyone who is still in!

Was the mini van rental thru SW? I see where you can rent thru SW but I don't see where I could use my points to do so. If not, could you please tell me which cc rewards you used? Thanks

I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I booked the car rental through their rewards portal. They also allow you to transfer points to SW, which is what I did for our airfare.

I was wondering also, I just started to look around for the best deal. I have been getting Discover offers weekly and thought about just going with it out of convenience. I was not aware transferring points was even an option. I prefer SW for WDW but my company currently has a moratorium on travel so not getting any points through work. I just booked my last points flight unless something changes soon :( Plus with the churning requiring more effort and diligence it just makes since to add a points card to the mix. Thanks for this info!

You cannot use Landry's GC at Yak & Yeti QS, only sit down. It can be used at Rainforest and TRex. You can purchase McCormick and Schmicks GC at Costco, $100 for $79.99 and they can be used at all Landry's locations. Be sure to sign up for Landry's select club. You pay one time $25 and the credit you with $25 off of your next purchase. You get $25 each year during your birth month up to the 15 of the month after. Many people sign up and put a time when they travel to Disney as no ID is checked and then you get $50 off of your meal. You also get priority seating and do not have to make a reservation at these locations, you will get in within minutes usually of arriving.

Groupon often has discounted Starbucks cards $10 for $5 or $20 for $10. I have saved enough to buy the "you are here" mugs by using 2 groupon accounts and combining the cards on the SB app.

Just as conversation - I'm betting we see Ebucks on July 12 to compete with Amazon's Prime Day.

That would be great, let's hope so! 5x would be really nice! I also keep checking to see if 4x fuel points is being offered on gift cards at Kroger. Haven't heard anything yet! Anyone else?

No - no 4x fuel points here, either. Maybe not til later this month as it will be "back to school" time here in GA.

I'm waiting too. But after consumer reports just said cheap gas is bad for your car I'm starting to wonder about whether fuel points will really cost me down the road.
