Disney Gift Card Deals

So, I think after reading I'll go ahead and buy the two target gc's at ebay for $95. My first thought was that I should just use a cc, to save on my $5000 limit which is probably about $1550 right now, from Jan thru now. Then I just started thinking that I have my target gc's at home that I just received today. I could use those and should have an ebay gift card emailed, usually within a few hours or less,(i know it could take longer, but have had good luck so far.). Not sure which way would be better, although using gc's I wouldn't have to put out another $200 on bank cc, and I'd save more.

If you log into your PayPal account and click on wallet, then scroll down, hit classic site, then look on the left for I think it says gift certificates or something like that. I then hit see redemption codes, and it will list all that you have used.
Thank you! Still not very quick since you have to click on details for each one to see the original value and then add it up manually, but its better than scrolling through all my activity on PayPal. I did add mine up earlier and I'm at $1260. I definitely see how you can blow through $5,000 quickly!

You can also export your account activity for the last six months and then open it up in Excel. Sort by Type and then total up the amounts with the type = "Gift Certificates and Cards Redemption." Once I figured out what I had already used, I keep my spreadsheet updated with the date and amount each time I made a purchase using ebay GC's. I also calculate the date six months from each transaction date, so I can easily tell when that amount becomes available again.

...Do you always get the eBay cards by ecards or do you sometimes order the physical gift cards from target? I just noticed from your ticker you are going to WDW one week after us in November!

I have only ordered Ebay ecards from Target. I'm impatient and want the cards asap, lol, so I can be ready, and even though I do have some time till our Nov trip, lol, I don't see any reason to wait for cards to arrive in the mail if I don't need to. Plus, I am planning for a May trip. And, speaking of the our Nov trips, I can't wait! We'll even see the last couple days of F & W, so that might be cool! I have an AP that will run out in May and it's, as they say, burning a hole in my pocket these days, lol! We want to see the DL 60 celebration, and May is the only time we can go, so we're doing that, but we did use the AP's for a couple trips last year.

How do you do this and not lose the 5% Target Red Card discount?
For me, if I'm not seeing the 5% disc show up, I go back in, edit payment to be the redcard, save, and then it usually shows up due to the extra item in cart, then I edit again and switch to pay the whole thing with the gc's and the disc stays in the cart for everything and I complete the order. It works for me.

I just noticed that iConsumer has lowered their % back on eBay purchases from 4% down to 3%. It's still higher than the other cash back sites I'm aware of - Mr. Rebates (2%), MyPoints (2pts/$1, approx. 1.4%), or eBates (1% on GC's), but just FYI for those comparing cash back options. iConsumer also still caps eBay cash back at $20/month, so at 3% that would allow you to churn about $675 through there before you hit the cap.

Topcashback is at 2.1% for Ebay this week. Of course, last week with the 5x promo, it was 1.5%, lol, but it was still better than ebates. I got more back on my $750 order thru TCB than for the $900 order thru ebates. I'm hoping that TCB works out as far as getting my payout, haven't gotten one yet, but I it's not time yet I guess. I've done well with getting my cashback from ebates, so I do like them.

Thanks, I did this and confirmed what I thought I had spent with gc's. It is a bit tedious having to click the details for each item. It'd be nice if they could make the site more user friendly and easy to find out this info! But, thank you for sharing the info, it was helpful!

Okay, so went to target and bought 2 ebay cards with $200 of the target cards that arrived today from the last 5x promo. Went to paypal to pay and it took $100 from the one card and $90 from the other card. Now, wondering where the other $10 is at? Is it still on that ebay card? That's what I'm assuming but no way to check it out till I buy again. I thought it would be left in my ebay account but it doesn't say I have anything.

That was a pretty good deal actually! I used cards I spent $190 on at Target, to buy two $100 cards, for $190, saving $10 for future use (I think left on the card still), and got back $3.80 ebucks and should get $3.80 TCB. Plus the savings I got on 4 of the $50 cards I bought last week with the 5x promo which had been churned once already, lol. No idea how to figure out the actual savings, lol.

I had to buy in $50 cards so have another $700 in target cards in $50 increments. So, if I take them to target will they combine them all on one card for me? Or, do I have to buy other target cards in $100's?

"That was a pretty good deal actually! I used cards I spent $190 (=5%) on at Target, to buy two $100 cards, for $190,(=5%) saving $10 for future use (I think left on the card still), and got back $3.80 ebucks (=1.9%) and should get $3.80 TCB" (1.9%). Plus 2% shipping savings = 15.8%, with no Raise risk.

Yes, your $10 should still be on one of your cards. Its odd how ebay/paypal applies the gift cards . . . instead of depleting cards in the order you enter them, they take funds based on the gift card number. You should be able to view the transaction in paypal and see which cards were used and the corresponding amounts debited from both.

Definitely a good deal! I wish we could have purchased more than 2!

Do you use ensues for your target card purchase through eBay? Does it show up right away? I went through ebates and the trip is showing but not as cash back. I have been having so many problems with ebates!

Ebay Ebates rebates take three-four days to show up. Let it sit, they'll pop in eventually.

To add... I keep a spreadsheet of all the giftcard numbers I receive and the balance remaining on them. As Jodie pointed out, you can go into your order to see how Paypal decided to use the gift cards, as it's rarely how you or I would think to use them. Then record that gift card # and the balance remaining somewhere.

The good news is that partial gift cards can't be stolen from you - once you start to use them, they're forever linked to only that Paypal account.

Savings = 1 - (what you started with/what you ended up with)

So if you spent $190, but ended up with..
$200 Target
$10 ebay
$3.80 ebucks
$3.80 TCB

1 - (190/217.60) = .12683 or about 12.7%

Or you could use 4 at a time to buy $200 ebay cards. Whatever option you prefer.

The write up on GCM says 2 per ebay user. Does that mean that if I have 2 ebay accounts but they're linked to the same paypal, that I can do it on both ebay account or am I misreading it?

Well, just a word of warning. I just found out that I am banned from target.com. I didn't know I was until every order I put in was immediately cancelled. And this was for everyday products, not DGC. I had bought hundreds in the past, but not for a couple months now. I am not a reseller. Just funding my cruises. Really irritates me. I stock my pantry with household goods shipped to my home getting $5 free gift cards, and have spent thousands of on electronics and small appliances, and toys for my 4 grandchildren. I am a 66 year old retired lady living on my retirement. Imagine that, Target thinks I am a threat to their bottom line. That's a joke. Why can't they just say you can't buy anymore GC's? I don't know the real reason I am banned, no one could tell me that, only to read the rules and regs of shopping on line. I did get huge ebate checks from my target purchases, taking the advice to add something to my cart when purchasing gc's to get the ebate, so that could be something, but from other threads with others being banned, I think it is just the amount of gift cards purchased. I am "welcome to shop in the store and use my Target red card" but Target.com is a separate entity and has different rules. I feel like I committed a crime like Bernie Madoff.

Oh no!!!! I am so sorry this happened to you :( Did they offer to reinstate you at all, or is it a lifetime thing!?

Ugh. So sorry. Did you purchase target gift cards from a reseller and if so which one(s)?

Thanks so much for the savings information from GCM on ebay. Went ahead and purchased the 2 GC's I was allowed today, free shipping is awesome! So far I am at a 19.13% savings due to all of my churning. We leave on May 8th so I have probably one more churn before I have to cash in.

My understanding is that it is lifelong. I bought from Raise, Cardcash and ebay. I also used my free cards from Target. I have not had any problem with my cards in purchasing. In fact, I buy all kinds of cards on raise and cardcash and have not had any issues at other stores. I think it is a drastic step to take. Why not just say, hey lady, no more gc's for you from target.com? I even had a $250 credit on my target card because I overpaid, and couldn't use it on target.com. I was trying to purchase white strips and a streaming box for my tv.

But you did an enormous amount, right? Just trying to look for patterns.

I agree they should just prohibit gift card purchases.

Did they ask you to fax information in to verify your identity? Last Friday, the same thing happened to me. All my online orders were canceled. When I called in, they told me to fax my DL, SS card and a copy of a utility bill. For me, my Red Card is suspended or blocked - even in the store. So, mine might be a different thing going on. I faxed the info this morning and am waiting to hear back.
